What evolution would you want to happen to Humans or any animal next.

Like me I would love to have wings that fly.

Has anyone read "Uglies"? In the book we've reached an evolutionary standpoint. The work in genetics allows people that are sixteen to get any type of surgery they want, in limitations. I'm talking about giant wings on your back, but it's all cosmetic. Once we figure out genetics of that level we will stop evolving.

Sadly, this.

If there was something beneficial, it would be much more durable teeth. They're the only bones that are exposed.

We don't need to evolve, thanks to technology. So we're stuck.
Unless we make serious genetic engineering. Which I'm really sure will happen quite soon.
But that's just my opinion.

We have stopped evolving since the industrial revolution, because natural selection no-longer applies to our society.

Technology could soon alter our DNA, so i suppose (i am no expert) you could "body-mod"- i imagine twilight fans would turn themselves in vampires, and maybe some people would opt for long elven ears. Some anime fans may want to give themselves cat ears and a tale lol

We will evolve to ability to commune with midichlorians, and use our newly gained Force Powers to kill George Lucas as he screams "I told you s-aarrgh!"

On an ever-so-slightly more serious note, evolving to have stronger bones would be quite nice/useful, or slightly tougher skin.

I'm hoping we don't evolve for a long time.

What do you mean, "sadly?"

The fact that we haven't evolved beyond Sapiens means that there's nothing else we need. We've survived extinction-level events with the traits we already have. Anything that would make us evolve from now would have to be cataclysmic, and I'm frankly hoping such a thing never happens.

True, but due to the lack of natural selection, humans are becoming more susceptible to problems that would normally be eliminated through evolution. I'm not saying humanity is in much danger, but it's certainly not improving as a species.

Evolution isn't about "improvement." It's about surviving the disaster that's currently befalling you.

Natural selection happens whether a species wants it or not, there's no way to avoid it; it's not a force, it's a consequence. If something doesn't kill you, you're clearly doing something right, and evolution doesn't care. If humanity lasts until the sun goes nova without ever evolving, we'll have been the single most successful species ever to exist (sharks currently hold that title, as they haven't evolved appreciably in millions of years).
