That's simply because it's not an older game, unless you're a toddler I guess.Wabblefish said:I am SO happy no one has said Oblivion.
Not that Oblivion isn't a good game, its still really good and fun...but damn that game hasn't aged very well
Also I'd say Supermario 64 has aged really well.
Woah woah I'm sorry but the orginal Half-Life has aged really poorly.Evill_Bob said:Megaman Legends 2, Super Mario 64, and Half-Life. There are a few others that didn't age as well as others but some like Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries and Counter Strike that have recieved upgrades to keep them running strong.
Squenix have yet to set the stage. Birth by Sleep (think of it as Kingdom Hearts 0) and the upcoming Dream Drop Distance are serving that purpose. I'm fairly certain that III will be well worth the wait. (Though lucky you, you won't have to wait as long.)Canadish said:Kingdom hearts:
I only got the chance to play those games a few months back, and the graphics didn't burn my eyes with their awful PS2 level quality.
On top of that the gameplay was slick, smooth and some of the best I've played in years.
Why has number 3 not been made yet?
tell me a FPS series that isint the same between the games.Deshara said:It helps that it's been re-released about 5 times, with one or two gameplay changes having happened, total.Timedraven 117 said:The original Halo has done well i still play it. And Burnout 3 is good too much better than paridise
Anyway, Nethack.
And, Picmin. I frikkn love Pikmin, still.
Cause, you know. Modern FPS games have really shown it up in gameplay; what with it's... uh... graphics! And... uh... uhmmmmmm... checkpoints! Seriously though, Half-Life 1 comes from a time when singleplayer was the bread and multiplayer is the butter. Now multiplayer is the bread AND butter and singleplayer (if it has one) is the crumbs on the plate. The singleplayer of Half-Life 1 has most of the features modern shooters have. I've skipped playing it for years (started playing the series at Half-Life 2) but with Killzone 3, Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops), Duke Nukem Forever, and (to a degree) Halo: Reach singleplayer has taken a back seat and has been found wanting. I went back and played it, and I had fun.Dchao said:Woah woah I'm sorry but the orginal Half-Life has aged really poorly.Evill_Bob said:Megaman Legends 2, Super Mario 64, and Half-Life. I think you misunderstood what I was saying, I didn't say "hurr modern fps are so good", I said that it hasn't aged well. It's still playable but you can tell it isn't as great and genre changing as it was then.Evill_Bob said:Cause, you know. Genre changing? NONE of the games listed here are genre changing NOW. Many have seen a decade passby, and if they are still changing a genre after so long alot of people have missed something or it's one hell of a puzzlebox game. Some of the games that age very well didn't even add a footnote to the genre, they just were a culimation of a ton of pre-existing ideas arrayed in masterful maner.Dchao said:I think you misunderstood what I was saying, I didn't say "hurr modern fps are so good", I said that it hasn't aged well.
