I want realism as in visible veichle damage. I'm in a tank in Bad Company and getting hit by a rocket launcher and the tank doesn't even react. And when you reach 0 health all the tank does is suddenly burn and explode within a second for no reason.

types of blood and bleeding realism ... dark for minor wounds .. bright for major (brighter blood means you just hit an artery) ... how slow/fast, how much, the pattern or spray according to wound and heart rate ... and the blood/heartrate engine should effect poisons

tenchu 3 actually did the colour thing

Mainly the thing which i prefer to be realistic is your partner in a game, for example if the developers of a game have given you the option to look and wak around during cutscenes i would like the person your talking to to act realistic and not just stand there like a plank of talking wood you know?

Just one more thing though... Fire developers just cant seem to get it right in Farcry 2 they got the damage of fire right but the look of fire annoys me cause it always looks like paper cut outs. (portal being one of the worst) But when they get the look right i think itll be great. btw this is my first post! :)

To me it has to be the characters, them responding to the situation appropriately. To have someone yell "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIIIIIGHT!" just really ruins it for me.
dunno about that one (the dante situation) ... i can't type much coz i'm on the PS3 .. but study Dante as a character and the circumstances .. it fits well ... don't forget mundus created her a specific way just to fuck with him ... and don't forget the memories from the relationship with vergil

Bullet accuracy
(windage, spin,ballistic trajectory, recoil)
Weapon handling
(weapons do not point where your eyes are looking)
Hit Locations
(being shot in the balls, is radically different to being shot in the ear lobe)
Skeletons
(being shot in the bone is radically different to being shot in the muscle)
Vehicle components
(why in gods name do tanks have health bars, tanks were immobilized through track & turret damage not bloody health bar reduction)
Criticals but no fumbles
(why cant you fumble in an RPG ? what fun is that)
Gun stats as opposed to Bullet stats
(guns dont kill people bullets do I seen it on a documentary on BBC2 :D Name the band for 1 internet)
Deformable terrain
(its insane we can model bodies exact (bullshit) reactions to physics but we cant work out how to model smaller items being destroyed like say ... oh ... well A BLOOMIN BRICK WALL )

Sorry actually I drew up a complaints list not a praise list ;D I wonder why that is.
Pretty much this... and Goldy Looking Chain

Well, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes realism works, sometimes it doesn't. Why would we want to limit them to only one?

I guess probably good sound effects and voice acting. The lack of these things can really kill my experience. Unless they're purposefully off the wall and ridiculous (but even that can get irritating).

Correct damage and usage of weapons is nice too. A shotgun =/= sniper rifle and vice versa.

And one big pet peeve of mine through most games (that will probably never be perfect)... AI. I can't stand stupid enemies or allies. I usually wind up trying to off them myself in frustration. Most recently, in Fallout 3, the woman you travel with in seeking the Declaration of Independence is cringe-worthy stupid.

Obviously the story and stuff can be fantasy, but i liek the science part to be true, that's kind of what i liekd about Dead Space, they used actual biology, and you can see how the virus changed them, also the weapons systems can be real too, obviously not the gun that shoots lasers, but with sightings and stuff.

I'm not going to lie.

I'm a sucker for the physics.

It's probably one of the reasons why I liked grabbing onto a ball-swing in LittleBigPlanet and letting go just to watch the way the rope and ball reacted to how I grabbed it, where, and how forcefully. (Trust me, that's not all I did in LBP. xD)

background sound should play a huge role in stealth ... LOL ashamed to admit it but i tried stealthing cousins and random strangers ... here's what i got from it

1. type of clothing is important, friction between synthetic materials can give you away fast

2. it's actually not speed of movement that's important .. from my exp it's style and timing of movement E.G. i found that when i timed my steps with the persons even if i made a small noise they'll mistake it for their own steps ALSO .. sounds from cars and stuff can give you a "move however you want" moment

3. watch what you're stepping on, grass is actually fucking loud when there's no other sound

4. time your breathing and relax when you move so that when they stop you won't panic

5. watch your shadow haha .. it can be an embarrassing way 2 get caught ... can also FREEAK out the guy you're following XD

i want them to use the BG sound and step following for games :p
