Wow. I thought someone would have posted this one by now, but I didn't see it. So, just because:

1. Crush your enemies
2. See them driven before you
3. Hear the lamentations of their women

i live by the the teachings of sidartha gartama, also known as buda. he preached to his floowers the 4 noble truths

1. life is filled with misery and pain
2. misery and pain is caused by the desire for material things
3. the only way to be free of pain is to cease desiring material things
4. the only way to cease desiring is by following the 8 fold path

i also follow some of the ideals presented by a character "wolf larsen" in jack london's the sea wolf (new list)

1. a human life is only valuable to the person who holds it
2. humans are all cannibles that feedoff each other and the fittest will rise up above the others i.e. a company owner feeds off the work of all his workers and then profits from them so is set ahead
3. no one actually believes in god and heaven because none of us want to die were one to truly believe they would have killed themselves to get to the heaven that awaits them

I don't really have a philosophy, but I tend to live my life in a fairly optimistic way.

1. How has your philosophy changed how you see the world?
I view it as a pretty good place. Apparently some other people would say otherwise, but I don't really mind.
2. Does your philosophy have and downsides?
Not really. Just the occasional grumpy pessimist telling me how I'm stupid and/or ignorant, but that doesn't take the smile off my face.
3. Where did your philosophy come from?
It came from the realization that living life happily is way more fun than living it angrily. Though to be true to the question, I'm sure optimism started at some obscure point in time and place other than me.

Marx, Lenin, Mao, Jesus, Muhammad and a little /b/it of Stalin influence my philosophy.

Everybody is equal. Strength comes to those who take it, and it is always within reach. To impose one's will upon another is reactionary and an act of barbarism. Get things done, and do it yourself if you want it done right. Don't ask for things. Question all authority at all times. Treat others respectfully and they will treat you in kind.

Everything is fucking awesome. Live in a constant state of love for everything and everyone. After all, it's all you need. <youtube=5dPcUXqZ3cA>

On an unrelated note, when I watch the Evangelion finale (the TV show, not End of Evangelion), I imagine that song playing.

well i used to be the free spirited selfish kid who hoarded everything, but idk somewhere along the line something snapped in my head and im super nice and try and help out whenever i can, sometimes all people need is a little bit of help/hope, and it'll bring out the best in them that doesn't always show itself

(now im not some dumb fucking angel, but i figure helping someone or making someones day can only start a chain reaction and actually making a difference in someone's life is a day well done in my book)

I value subjectivity, I don't feel that there is any truly "right" way to look at something, because we are viewing the world from a different set of eyes.

I'm neither positive or negative, I recognize that both exist in life, and that our existence was formed around it through evolution, so in a way, we thrive on both the ups and the downs of life. We need both in a way. I'm cynical, but I laugh at it all. Life is going to get bad, but there's no reason on getting upset or stressed about what I can't control.

Mr. Hicks has been a huge influence:

Instead of running from fear, I want to dive right into it. Because running from fear and pain is letting it control your life, and I want to live free.

Very true indeed.

The only one I might add to that is that desire for material things is part of human nature, and to completely repress that is impossible.

I embrace my human nature, but I try to control it, not completely repress it, but express it in healthier ways.

1.) Everyone but you is an asshole.
2.) You're an asshole.
3.) If you think rule #1 is flawed, read rule #2.

Kidding....

Nothing is true, Everything is permitted.......

Except women's rights.

I believe that I should just do what I enjoy. be that writing my mediocre short stories, playing games with friends, going out, trying to find ways to make money, figuring out how to get WoW, Trying to whoo the girl I like, Proclaiming my hatred for the stupid and Avatar or Pochahontas 2154 as I like to call it, reading books, looking at new technological innovations, Forums, writing jokes,

The list goes on, So basically the typical, touchy feely "Do what makes you happy" Shit that is the message of almost every second fucking teen film.

Also I love being an asshole and cynical, black humor. And I'm happy with my relatively unknown and unfulfilled existence.

No matter how bad things can get, someone else probably has it worse. So quit being a ***** and get over it.

Shit that is out of your control happens. Always be ready for the moment it does, and face it. Try to be optimistic even in the darkest of times. If you feel your optimism won't break through the bad times, then let your feelings out. Whatever you do, don't hide what you are feeling. The long term negative effects of hiding them outweigh the short term positive effects. Be thankful that you are alive. Be realistic. Don't set yourself up for disappointment and failure by having unrealistic dreams and goals. Love life, live life, and take risks. When you get knocked down, pick yourself up and try again.

Don't eat health food; it sucks. Excercise isn't that great either. Keeping in shape is a scam. What's the point of living long if you hve to eat celery and excercise every day. Your just avoiding the inevitable, live it up while you still can. Also, most people are stupid, so don't take shit from anyone.
Yeah, enjoy your obesity.

Also, ironic how you're pointing out other people's stupidity, yet failing to adhere to... you know, grammar. :p

Oh, and fyi, exercise and healthy food is worthwhile, if only because it saves the rest of us from having to be around fatties. Fatties are gross.

EDIT: A bonus point: Fat people probably won't be loved by beautiful men or women. Yeah, people can ***** and moan about how superficial people are, but let's face it, if you are a slim and pretty person, you are less likely to settle for a fatty.

honest answer
dont think. feel.

I do what I do because it is what I am called to do. anything else, anything I am not called to do, is merely practice or passing time. there is so surrender, ever. nothing will stop me from following my path; not death, not life, not pain nor exhaustion. most religious belief is too sedentary; I cannot stand still, I will not wait, I must push foreword not sit and think on the mysteries or origins of creation. the "answers" of science hold nothing for me. I do not care, I cannot care about the complex workings of the universe, I have work to do. the science and religion of so many are so alike in their stillness. I am a character, not a viewer. I do not have the answers, I do not want them. I do what I must.

People are bad, try not to let them get to you, but don't bother them either. In fact don't bother them even if you need to bother them.

Examples:
Don't apologize to them if they know they're in the wrong, it'll make them feel bad.
Be mildly cruel but not enough that they themselves are hurt. People thrive on gossip, and being a jerk gives them something to talk about.

By following these guidelines you yourself can get a sick enjoyment of manipulation and elitism, don't overdose.

Pretty good bit of prose poetry that are good words to live by.
I, too, have taken a lot of my life's philosophy from the Desiderata.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

There's also a quote from Tom Robbins that works: "There are many things worth living for, a few things worth dying for, and nothing worth killing for."

Overall, my philosophy of life is somewhere between these, and one of the final quotes from Metal Gear Solid 4: "It's not about changing the world. It's about doing our best to leave the world the way it is. It's about respecting the will of others, and believing in your own."

I don't want to change the world. I don't want to be someone mentioned in history. I just want to live my life day to day in my own way, and to be happy doing so. I want to live for the things I love, and make the people in my circle happier for knowing me.
