What places, people, situations, etc do you find hypocritical?

This is more or less inspired by that Wal-Mart thread.

For me, I went to a laser tag place with my brother-in-law and nephews. In this particular laser tag joint, they have people create user names for themselves so they can tally up the scores after the games. I used the name "GUNMAN" which is based off of my XBOX LIVE gamertag. However, the lady at the counter said I can't use that name because it has the word "gun" in it.

A place that has laser tag, a game where you use toy guns that shoot lasers, doesn't allow the word "gun". What?

I think every person is at least a little hypocritical.

One of my professors said, "Forgive me if I ever contradict myself, I am vast and contain multitudes of ideas and beliefs."

Look at the idea of common sense -

"A penny saved is a penny earned."

OR

"You have to spend money to make money."

Which is true? I think both so I must be a hypocrite that way.

Granted, some people are worse hypocrites then others but we're all guilty to a certain extent.

Whilst I don't agree with everything that PETA do, I've heard this same argument used against the RSPCA.
People need to realise that sometimes a quick death is better than extended torture, and that funding for such organisations is limited, they can only care for so many animals, the rest are better off being put to sleep.

Oh god. I hate those people. If they really were animal lovers they would be trying to stop animal cruelty within the household rather than focusing on doing something like forcing people not to eat meat.

What? You can have racial equality, but you're not allowed to acknowledge that they have a different coloured skin? Why? Hey say what you will about the aborition crap but you better not be desrespecting those heroes who are fighting and dying. I Knew a guy who fought in afganistan he said during his down time him and his group played soccer with some of the local kids. The people expressed how they felt really safe with the troops around and thanked them. Hes no longer with us god rest his soul.

Religions are about faith and piety and worship of a higher being who wants to elevate humanity, but people will and have done plenty of murder, rape, pillaging, and so on in its name.

War is a bloody and disastrous conflict started by people who want to either destroy a country or rule it, but in this day and age it's more likely that wars will just destroy all life instead of achieve anything.

Nuclear testing was conducted on the planet WE LIVE ON. Hey guys! There's a perfectly good moon out there that shields us from THE UNIVERSE! Use it!

Wal-Mart. Let's see... Exploited workers, customer manipulation, suspicious economics, questionable management, terrible security, horrible organization, not all products safe or reliable - HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU MAKING MONEY?!

Sometimes, in a room, when something bad could happen, I am the only person who realizes there is danger and I speak of the danger, but no one will ever listen. Are we a B-rated horror movie now? Everyone ignores the one with his head on straight?

The state of Pennsylvania - though I am mostly concerned with Pittsburgh - has had a terrible drop in the quality of public transportation. Bus lines cut, services reduced, higher fare (though that's really a minor issue), and still unreliable in terms of timing. The reason? It was made so by the man who was hired to take over and solve the problem of bus service that had previously been afflicted with the budget and everything. Public transit is mostly funded by grants, and for Pittsburgh you need a BIG ONE because of where you have to send those buses. So, what does he do? Reduces everything, inconveniencing everyone who takes a bus and outright STRANDING entire neighborhoods. Uhhh, WRONG!! All the buses have been, by now, re-organized after their reductions and I've yet to see any improvement in the YEARS this has been going on. Oh, and if you want to get some places that ARE on the line late at night? You're fucked! This is completely ass wrong, ruined instead of fixed. Exactly NOT what people wanted.

Do you not understand that you can support the troops but still be against the war, and yes some people see us as liberators, and yes some people are there are doing the right thing, but there are stories that support both sides of each of our argument, and there is never any real black and white.
