precisely, and this is exactly why more and more games don't allow or support modding, latest examples would be mw2 or bc2, where steps were taken especially to prevent modding the games.Scrumpmonkey said:Being a long standing PC gamer i know that 90% of cumminity made content is better and more worthwhile than most of the stuff we are peddled on XBL. Viva la mods! Viva la community maps!
i remember a time when those things were called "patches" and they were for free (speaking for pc at least). this, allong with the no-mod-mentality, is one of the curses consoles have brought to gaming (to clarify i don't have anything against console gamers, i just don't like what the console industry is doing to our common hobby). shure, developers are entitled to payment for there work, but i will not pay for something that is aimed at maximum profit for minimum work, which was a while ago considered a service and therefore already part of the game. worst of all is the dlc that WAS in the game or was planned in the game to begin with, or something that gives people an advantage in multiplayer..unfair advantages for cash, gnaaah >_<
so i shall proceed to pirate the SHIT out of any dlc i find even remotely interesting. fortunately in the czech republic downloading copyright protected material is not illegal ^_^
