Title pretty much asks it. What principles mean the most to you, be it honesty, loyalty, kindness, etc.

Honesty means a lot to me, but saying that that is the most important thing to me is a little bit hypocritical, as I am honest only when it is convenient to me.

Kindness is also very important. Seeing people be needlessly cruel to other people makes me extremly upset. (My source would have to be dealing with my peers, and watching kids get picked on for some of the dumbest reasons I have ever seen.)

What about you, fellow Escapists? What are some important principles to you?

Honesty and not changing to please others. Honesty is something I can be hypocritical about at times, but I've never changed due to peer pressure before.

Skinner!

No, wait, that's "Principal".

Courage, I think. It's the thing I find hardest to draw upon myself and (hence) the thing I respect most in others.

Freedom and responsibility. These two things are more or less the opposite sides of one coin. Courage is also important, but it's a distant third.

Freedom and responsibility are my top two. distant third is determination, followed closely by courage and empathy. Honesty doesnt make my list, in my opinion truth and lies are just tools. it is the intent behind them, and less so the results that matter. Falsehood can be infinitely kinder than truth under many situations.

As for myself only, honest adherence to any reasonable want I might have.

As for interaction with others, the Harm principle [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harm_principle] in terms of ethical judgement, and tit for tat [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tit_for_tat] in terms of required treatment.

Honesty, kindness are actually my top ones. I strive for both, and believe the world would be a better place if others did as well. :)

Live and let live. There is dicks in the world, and in all likelyhood those dicks are going to " fuck with yo shit". So just go in one ear and out the other. There's no point in engaging them.

Oh and don't worry, be happy. :D

Kindness and courtesy are really important to me, and courtesy especially with women. I know it probably seems a bit sexist, but whatever. Stepping up to responsibility is also really important (like being a father figure to your brother if your dad leaves).

Pfft. What use are principles if you cant abandon them at a moment's notice?

I guess I try to be honest and generous, but deep down I know that I'm like that for selfish reasons. And so are the rest of you :)

Most of the time, I'll just try to be nice and only be a dick to people who deserve it. Beyond that there's no real mode of living or laws of life that I follow. I'd rather just be myself than follow a set of principles. I suppose that in itself is a principle.

I duno what I'm on about really to be honest :D

Never ever in anyway attack someone or something that can't properly defend itself. That means small animals, children, handicapped people etc. Anytime I see or hear that something of the sort has happened, I almost lose my head.

Be polite. Be efficient. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

No, wait, that's not it...
