Two things that annoy me in FPS' are infinitly respawning enemies and allies that just stay behind cover waiting for me to be the guinea pig (too many times I've turned a corner and was given a bullet sandwich to chow down on). Also you need to go back to elementary school, this isn't the place to use msn spelling.

Well, really what ruins them for me is....you will have a really cool firefight going like...in a movie and its awesomely cool and you actually can get a sniper around to flank them or something...but before any of this is possible someone rushes...its just like COME ON DUDE WTH OMG AGH BLURG AEHJDN because almost all of the time they shoot you in the face before you can do anything...this really ticks me off. For the replys i would rather have people explain what ruins it for them rather than just saying RUSHING IS A LEGITIMATE STRATEGY BLAH BLAH YOU JUST SUCK CHICKENS NOOB HAHAHAHAHA, even though i agree rushing IS IN FACT a legitimate strategy...just like camping
Is this your first Forum Topic?
Could you please try word it a bit more coherently next time, you sound more flustered than a virgin on prom night :)

Anywho - what annoys me most in FPS would probably be T.K
Happened a lot in Halo MP for me, just juveniles chucking grenades in the spawn areas cos they're obviously bored to tears.
That, or the 70% of the FPS community that have more talent than me with xBox controllers. I really need to get my PC back on the internet.

I doubt anyone was going to call you a "Noob" and exclaim you "suck chickens" but, ok...

To be honest - camping really annoys me in any FPS - if your a sniper I understand, but people who sit in a corner with a sub-machine gun; what's the point, you can't possibly be enjoying yourself?
to the contrary in resistance(sp?) fall of man on one hit carbine I was camping in a blantantly obvious staircase I got so many kills and NO death I was laughing way too much but thats about the only time

So let me get this straight; this is a poorly thought out, poorly spelled, poorly punctuated rant on "rushing", which is probably the most common tactic used in every shooter game, ever. Also, you appear to be angry at your own inability to counter this tactic. Is that about right? Hmmm... how to respond to this...

Brutal... but i giggled ;)

PLEASE STOP COMMENTING ON SPELLING i tried my best, but I am not going to flip out a dictionary and check every word for spelling! i don't particularly care that much. You could read it, couldn't you?

This.

If you mean mechanics in games: Regenerating Health, it's cool if you like it, you just won't be seeing me in any of those games.

If you mean strategies people use: Camping

Exactly! I guess they could get some enjoyment when people complain about it, but other than that, I really can't see any possible way to derive fun from camping.

Who was that directed at? I tried to type with the utmost clarity so a fellow reading this topic would clearly understand.
You failed pretty badly. I was baffled after the first time reading it, confused after the second time and after the third.. I think I KIND of get what you're saying. Like, ouch.
the utmost clarity thing was just to show i wasn't an idiot and can use proper grammar and spelling

The only time I've ever had an issue with rushing is on Mass Effect. Although it's not an FPS, it can still get really annoying when you're carefully picking off your enemies, and you look around the corner, and get bowled over by an over-excited krogan. Funny, but annoying.

that..wasnt very nice this is my first thread...so you could give me some constructive critisism instead of just saying...your ranting i dont care you just suck at countering rushing, you actually pretty much did the almost exact thing i asked people not too im sure you will say no i didnt and say in the exact context what you DID do please man, if you are going to be mean just keep it to yourself

*Sarcastic applause*
You want construcutive criticism? Fine; Nobody expects you to have perfect spelling, grammar and punctuation in every single post you make, although it is nice if you make some token effort towards that goal. Topics are a different matter entirely. You are expected to hold yourself to a high standard of English when creating a new topic.

Oh, and for future reference, the most annoying thing about your OP was this punctuation problem; the "..." or "Ellipsis" is always three dots exactly, and is always followed by a space.

EDIT: The word "I" is capitalised. Always.

He's right. There's nothing there.

So, to paraphrase for those who cannot understand, you mean to say:

What really ruins FPSs [Ed. Note: I hate pluralizing genres which end with an "s"] for me is when there is a cool looking fight happening, and it's possible to actually get a sniper or someone else around to flank them, but then someone rushes at your team. I'm always like "Come on dude...OMG *random button smashing due to being attacked while typing*" because they almost always shoot you in the face before you can do anything. This tactic really ticks me off.

As for what to discuss, what is it that ruins FPSs for you?

P.S.: Please don't say that rushing is a legitimate strategy in games or anything to that effect, or that I must suck for not liking it. I agree that is a legitimate tactic, much like camping.
Am I close?

I would say that people that rage-quit or are generally annoying with their mics ruin them, but I don't really care. There are plenty of servers for most FPSs that I play to be able to find at least one good one.

Nothing personal mate but there's a certain code of conduct here at The Escapist - it's what separates man from monkey or The Escapist from Gamespot.

See your OP was very rushed and ranty, whereas this more recent post *points above* is improved tenfold.
If you could apply that level of grammar and literacy in a reply, why not have the courtesy to apply it to a topic thread?

Sorry to sound harsh but you've obviously lurked the Escapist before you posted so you should know there's an inherent level of formality and neatness expected if you're going to post a topic.
