Faith in humanity? Please. I gave that one up years ago. Mhmm...tell you what. If you can prove to me that I am human, then I - who have faith in myself - will admit that I have faith in MY human life. Everyone else is a crapshoot, sometimes literally.
Why not just have faith in others? I doubt the entire world hates you. I, for one, don't.
Hmmm? Oh no no no...this isn't about hate. This is about how people in the world act towards each other. I tend to get along nicely with most people. But look at all the problems of the world. It may just be my mindset, but I can't see myself perpetuating these things.

For instance, people are up in arms that Iran has Uranium. Oh no, they might have nukes! Yeah, and who doesn't? Even if they were to make a nuclear missle, it just means they don't want to be the one guy who doesn't have any. I say, leave 'em alone. If they DO plan evil, do something about it, but nobody likes a peeping Tom.

Alright, that was very political of me, but the idea is that sometimes people just do dumb things and I don't feel forgiving.
I can see that, but it's important to recall that we tend to hear more of the negative in the world because, well, it's more interesting to us. The only time we hear the good is if it's something spectacular, whereas we will hear about the bad at basically any level.

If something good is happening in the world and I don't know about it, that's not a faith issue. That's something that can be left unattended as good things are, because they're good. We need to focus on the bad because we need to stop that shit from continuing.

Not much really, it seems like for every thing I find to restore my faith, I find 3 things to destroy it.

Oh well. Maybe someday.

Eh, I haven't lost faith in humanity.

Reading history will give you a pretty clear picture of yesterday's humanity and seeing how far we'ave come I can't help but feel optimistic. Media might be chuck full of bad things, but you have to remember that good things are too common to be interesting.

The arts, especially music, and the sciences. Two perfect examples of how humanity can transcend petty things to learn more about the universe and ourselves.

Nothing.

To avoid writing a one word reply, absolutely nothing gives me any reason to have faith in humanity, I believe that humanity annihilating itself in any WMD related holocaust is far too honourable a death and that as a species we will slowly decay into a pool of filth.
Metaphorically of course, actually decaying into a pool of filth would be far more dignified.
finally, someone as hopelessly cynical as myself.

the cycle of debauchery and hyper-conservatism will continue until eventually the earth has no resource left to abuse and no morals left to defend; our existence will be motivated by the increasingly petty and trite, and as TS Eliot so rightly put it; "this is the way the world ends; not with a bang, but a whimper".

faith by its definition means that should it ever be required to motivate someone, all rational chance of success has already been lost. if i have faith in humanity, it means that be virtue of resorting to faith, all realistic chance of redemption has been lost. faith is the ultimate psychological defense mechanism, and god damn this working brain of mine for making me realize that and not letting me live in blissful stupidity.

in short: should i need to find a reason to restore my faith in humanity, whether or not one even exists, any merit humanity might've had is already long gone.

The best way I have to restore my faith in humanity is to turn off the computer and stop listening to the media.
This, really.

I tend to ignore everything I read in papers, hear on TV or see on the internet as 9 times out of ten, it's fear mongering and just generally being rammed down our throats. Unless it effects me directly, I think "Oh, it's a terrible thing that's happened." then move on and, not being horrible here, forget about it. It's not worth worrying about.

And to all the under 20's that complain about their faith in humanity being lost, try living a life first, please? Not being horrible here[footnote]He said, well aware when every someone says "I'm not being horrible/racist/sexist, but...", they always are being that.[/footnote], when I see people say they've given up and I check their age on the profile and it's in the teen years, it annoys me more. You're a teenager, you haven't really lived a life yet, nor should you be worrying about humanity. So go out, get drunk, have fun (And always have safe fun, obviously.), enjoy the life you have before you get caught up in college or uni. It's sad to see so many teens on the site saying they've lost faith.[sup]Small note, yes, I know a few of you might have lost faith for legitimate reasons but when I see someone using it non-sarcastically about something small, it's just mind-bogglingly silly. And yes, I'm still a teen which probably will make all that above null and void.[/sup]

As for what restores my faith, well, my girl-friend, my family, my friends, my dog, all the pets we have and basically any good news will help with that.

After 5 minutes of trying to think of something better than this, I failed.

The simplest answer is usually the correct answer. Boobs, it is.
Gotta love Occam's razor.

I said it once, I'll say it again; I've never lost my "faith" in humanity. Humanity, from the beginning, is a creature of nature. Hard programmed to see and react to things in accordance to its environment. Every single thing heinous act, every single news article you read that makes you think humanity is the scum of the Earth, all completely natural in the reaction to its environment.

So, as I am never one to hate a lion for killing a gazelle, I'm never one to lose faith in the human race.

Hmmm

Ya know Farts are funny....Especially when one of your friends is being a sicko so you hold a lighter behind him just in case the sickwad wants to try me again .....>:)
