Usually it's as simple as having a good drive from A to B. Even something as simple as someone turning without being retarded will get a proud tear from my eye.

When I remember that there are test subjects in Africa who don't even have monitors in their test chambers. That, and my incredible homemade pizza. People ask lots of questions while I'm making it, afterward they only ask if they can have more.

Mind sharing? =3 I can never get pizza right...

OP: Umm... to restore my faith in humanity... Gay marriage would need to be legalised universally I guess, people could actually start trying to stop global warming because it's not hard and if it ain't happening, no big deal, if it is, we'll all DIE! Also sex/racism would have to completely disappear...
...
Umm, short answer, to restore my faith in humanity it would take: A lot

Just stupid little things (well what the general public thinks are stupid and little)

A man holding a door open for a women (I'm 19, but I'm still pretty old school lol)
Someone helping an elderly person carry their groceries to their car
Hearing how someone rescued another living being (be it human or animal) from a tight situation
People protesting against ideas governments or corporations come up with that may have a negative impact on the planet and it's inhabitants (see coal seam gas mining).

Stupid stuff but hey, I'd like to think I'm not your average uncaring teenager lol.

The many different stories presented to us in games, books, graphic novels, etc.

Only good people can create entire new worlds worth exploring with our imaginations.

When I despair, I look at my son, and I see all the future potential in him of mankind. I look at him and I know there is still hope for my life meaning something and be profound and good.

Children are wonderful like that.. They are the only true immortality one can achieve, and in them, you can right the wrongs you made, and try and build a better tomorrow with them, and for them.

One I remember was...I forget how long ago. But a little girl was being bullied in school because she loved Star Wars. Her mom went online to tell people about it and the internet exploded in a wave of support for that little girl. Google it if you'd like to read more, but stuff like that is what reminds me that not everyone is horrible.
Oh yeah! I remember that. That was definately one for me.
I never heard about that. Wish my parents had done the same. I'd been bullied in elementary school for the same reason.

I don't lose or restore 'faith' in humanity as I don't have 'faith' in anything to begin with as I deem 'faith' an illogical concept. If you're asking me to chime out something positive about our feats and accomplishments as a species, I will say I'm rather impressed by our technological developments through the course of history, particularly the speedy progression from the beginning of the 20th century to now.
This, only slightly less arrogant sounding...

It's taken some work to get things right. First off, get quality ingredients. Secondly, do not be afraid to experiment. One of my favorite toppings now is chipotle-seasoned ground beef. Third, grease your pizza tray with a little bit of butter. It makes the tray easier to clean and the pizza just slides right off. Fourth, it goes dough, sauce, toppings, and then cheese. This is critical. It binds the toppings to the pizza, and brings their flavor to your tongue slightly faster. Lastly, it's got to have lots of each topping so that there's never a moment of "Am I getting the toppings I want this bite?"

That's how I make my pizzas.

Nothing. I have never had faith in humanity as a whole. I expect we will kill ourselves off eventually. That doesn't mean I have no hope in certain parts of humanity or certain individuals. Those can do good things and help us survive, I'm just of the opinion that they are outnumbered too much to save humanity in the long run.

I also liked a few things that were done on Think Geek

A little boy had saved his money to buy something on there, and didn't have enough, so he wrote a note asking if he could buy it for what he had. The Geeks answered the call and chipped in and he got his item

They also helped decorate a baby boy's room with dinosaur pictures, contributing to the hundreds adorning his walls :)

I remember that once on a thread, (And no, I won't tell you how this came up) I read a christian post how 99.9% of exorcisms are just people overreacting to mental illness, and then an Atheist responded, praising them for their open-mindedness.
I would have expected an Atheist to respond with something along the lines of "Nice, but your percentage was off by 0.1%, you bible-thumping freak!" or something equally jerkish.
This sort of thing is exactly what humanity needs more of. Not all people under a single religion, or a single, universally accepted faith willing to put up with all the others going about their business, but all religions willing to meet eachother halfway. Recognizing, and maybe even celebrating their differences.
I know that sounds idealistic, but I wouldn't have even thought it was possible if it weren't for these two guys' posts.

I don't say things like that. But if I did, it's always quality art that puts me instantly in a good mood and inspires me to work harder.

Ironically... My Little Pony FIS...

At first sceptical and cynical of it all looking on in bedazzlement and wondering what the fuck it was all about.

Then a month ago I started having suicidal thoughts(not related to mlp) and then was absorbed into the system to try and help via psychiatry and if that doesn't work then drugs...

Well 2 people in a thread said they were both suicidal and then they watched mlp and... improved... a lot.

I followed and now... I'm still a mentally ruined 17 year old having lived his life under family circumstances to warrant suicidal thoughts but watching (I'm up to e12 I think) has taken it off of my immediate mind and sorta put the thoughts away.

Looking at it the show has a very very very positive message and tolerant message and if little children are watching that while growing up then maybe if the human race survives long enough we'll be fine not having our next generation grow up to be like Glen Beck... as the current generation of up comers is ok but not enough by far...
I would just like to say that this is amazing. I was going to say MLP also, but I never would have thought that a show could do that much. My hat is off to you sir, and all the people involved in the making of the show.

P.S. *brohoof* to you and all others who say MLP.

Nothing restores my faith in humanity. Because I never lost my faith in humanity. Because I don't claim that I'm better than anyone else, let alone the whole mankind. That's just extremely arrogant.
