I get startled easily but above all suspense seems to get me the most. It's not the same thing as fear of the unknown but rather that I know something is going to be there and just the suspense gets to me. It's why I can't really play most horror games. The suspense that I know eventually something will be there is what gets me the most.

To a lesser extent heights. It's not as much a fear as more I'm uncomfortable in them. But once I get really high (like even, single engine recreation plane high) it doesn't effect me at all.

Fatal Frame. 'nuff said.

Nah, I'm scared of my imagination. I can imagine something so intensely that I'd be afraid to go to any dark place. That, and motherfucking spiders. Who the hell thought big spiders were a good idea?!

I hate you.
i love you :) im also scared of heights. but its not tall buildings its height above the ground. so going over deep water makes me feel wierd and cliff edges and plains. cause when im on the ground nothing can really happen but boasts sink planes crash and you can fall off cliffs.

also i was considering posting that spider pic again just so it would pop up in your notifications to replies spot :)

The picture didn't scare me. I don't really get it, to be honest. o.0

My fears:
*Heights: This is obvious.
*Large crowds: I feel claustrophobic and after not too long a time start wanting to bolt.
*Roaches: They just squick me out.
*Spiders: A couple months ago I was bitten by a spider. I won't tell the story, but it was a traumatic experience. Spiders now scare the hell out of me.
*Escalators: Yes, escalators. While in high school, I had a nightmare about one eating my best friend. Now it's elevator or bust for me.

Oddly enough, I'm scared of very, very little. Nothing in the creepy threads scares me. None of the pictures do. Yes, I do jump when somebody springs out at me, I also follow it up with a punch to the face. Pure reflex. I'm not afraid of alleyways at night, I trust in my smarts to let me elude any pursuers.

But the single thing I have nightmares about...that one thing I cannot explain....is that bloody Slender Man. I don't even know what it is about it. It's a big bloody stretchy man. So he abducts children. So does Pedobear. The bit about the organs in plastic bags just raises questions about where the devil he got plastic bags from.
It's just the images freak me out on some subconscious level. I could browse through pictures of it all day and not be concerned at all. But then at some random point, my mind starts showing me the pictures again, and it's usually in the middle of the night when everything's silent and creepy anyway.

Fuck you, Slender Man.

Having spent the majority of my teenage years reading horror novels/short stories and building a massive library of horror movies, it has become really hard for anything to scare me. I now find satisfaction in scaring people myself and witnessing the liberating effect that it has on them. It will still take a very long time before I can really get under people's skins though. That's an entirely different deal and it requires a lot more reading on my part, mostly on psychology and philosophy rather than horror fiction.

Distortion; primarily faces.
When something that should look normal looks wrong it freaks me out.
That picture you posted is a prime example, that is not a natural face, there is someting wrong with how it looks, where it is and what it is doing.

Insects. Especially cockroaches.

For some reason, spiders don't frighten me too much. I don't like them, but I don't get scared.

I get startled sometimes, like when people sneak up from behind you, but the only thing that's actually scared me in a while was Amnesia: the Dark Descent. I'm not that prone to being scared.

You know what? That was just a really douchebag move there considering the arachophobics likely in this thread. Fuck you.

Edit: Fixed, wrong poster.

Like a few other posters, suspense really gets to me. I have an awful time with horror games just because my mind will concoct some freakish nightmare of a scenario about what has yet to come, even if all I'm doing is walking down a well-lit hallway.

That aside, I have a legitimate phobia of vomit. Haven't been sick to my stomach since before kindergarten, and the last time someone around me threw up, I ran into the opposite corner of the room and had a complete mental breakdown, tears and all.

Heights scare me a bit iam getting over it but after free climbing up a rock face and a bit of rock from under my foot came lose and i fell, some how manage to hang on and pull my self up but looking down and seeing i was 30ft up tempted to let go out of fear i cant handle heights all that well anymore.

I don't really scare easily. While I'm not afraid of spiders I really hate them; I just don't like them being in my room, anywhere else I don't really care.

Nothing supernatural, at least yet. I read faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too much Lovecraft to find such things scary. If Cthulhu comes back tomorrow I'd honestly not be very surprised.

One of the wierdest things I find scary is absolute darkness, especially being alone in it. Standard darkness like night in a city, but basements with no lights on or caves is a nono. I'd be fucked if I went blind.

agreed, I have enough trouble trying to sleep without that bastard stalking me around!

anyway OT: my fears are
fear of falling, (and to an extension heights)
claustrophobia
Having no control (Generally going too fast does it for me)

No! Just the pictures that show up in the creepy threads. I'm not going to see Marble Hornets because the pictures alone are getting at me, God knows what that'll do

Loud noises all ways make me jump as a reaction but not out of fear, as for what scares me, thinking about the afterlife or if there even is one.
