I've really culled my gaming tastes to manageable levels in the last couple years of so, and that coupled with the fact that a lot of my remaining favorites (Souls, MGS, The Witcher) are on indefinite hiatus leave me with very few of these "must buy's".
One that immediately comes to mind though would be Mortal Kombat. As long as microtransactions don't ruin it (dangerously close with X but perhaps they learned something with Injustice 2) this one has always provided loads of entertainment value. I'm not even big into online play and for a game to still hold my interest for 2+ years and counting is pretty good.
The God of War series has historically been one as well, but I'm waiting to see how this new direction pans out.
So, what ones are you willing to part with your dear dollars for, especially day one?
