I already preordered Uncharted: Lost Legacy, but that will probably be the last I'd do for this series even if they keep it going. Basically one last hurrah for nostalgia.

Fire Emblem. I've been quick to put down money for them since Sacred Stones and there hasn't been a mainline FE game that I didn't like in some way (minus the old ass Famicom games). Leveling an army of unique characters to carry the game for me has always been addicting.

If I had a modern playstation console, I'd say Persona, but that's on hiatus. This probably goes for Fallout as well, but I've pretty much lost all interest in Fallout 4.

I had to think hard about this one. I was going to say Dragon Age, but after Inquisition, I'm not sure that's even true anymore. At this point, I don't think there is anything I would buy for certain.

None are "must buys" but there are some series that I'll definitely look at and consider.

Dark souls/ soulslike from FromSoftware
X-com
Bioware games (though admittedly bioware is almost getting to the point where that is flipped and I will require more convincing rather than less).
Tome Raider.
Mirrors edge
If another Dragons Dogma comes out they will have to really screw up for me not to buy it.

Pokemon. I HATE that I have any game like that but thankfully Pokemon is the only one. I hate most of the triple A section so its not that hard. I am lucky a lot of the games I like are too small or too dead to get a sequel. Maybe on a pinch I will say Castlevania or Elder Scrolls. The former being deader than Elvis and something I can live with between appreciating the series more and the fact that the metroidvania part of the series is thriving well though damn near half the fucking indie section. The latter being a mix of me taking time playing the games more and have mixed feelings about its future.

Since, I still haven't gotten this generation of consoles. My answer is none. Going off of one suggestion, I would buy a videogame console if they release Portal 3.

Halo - However, playing Halo 4 and the negative reviews of Halo 5 has cured me of that.
I love fighting games. So, I will always be willing to buy a new Mortal Kombat and Soul Caliber.
I haven't seen a new Burnout game for a while. That is the only racing series that I could ever get into.
I would buy a new Bloodrayne and Serious Sam if they ever came out.

Hmmm, game series that I'd consider a "must buy"? Let's see, excluding stuff that others have already posted...

Quest For Glory (So You Want To Be A Hero) 1 -5.
The Krondor series.
Legend of Kyrandia 1 - 3
Baldur's Gate
Neverwinter Nights
Knights of the Old Republic
Might & Magic (not Heroes of)
System Shock
Doom (Not 3)
Heretic
Ultima (Not 9, it sucks)
Ultima Underworld
American McGee's Alice (there's 2, that counts as a series right?)
X-Wing
System Shock

and last but not least, Star Wars: Dark Forces

Halo - The series has been in a pretty bad spot so far. Since 343 took the reigns, they have not been able to put out an objectively "great" game.
- Halo CEA: One of the industry's better remastered games, with entirely new visuals, music, and sound effects, and the ability to swap between classic and remastered. Criticised for reusing a lot of Halo Reach's and Halo 3's art assets. Multiplayer was a map pack for Halo Reach.
- Halo 4: Campaign was okay, and building on the MC's character was well recieved, and it was a lot more emotional than any other Halo game. Spartan Ops was trash. Multiplayer was a dumpster fire. New art style was not well recieved.
- Master Chief Collection: Broken and buggy. UI problems, crashes, limited customisation. Halo 2 Anniversary looks great, but is built on the Vista version of Halo 2, from which there are a lot of physics bugs.
- Halo 5: Campaign was a disaster. No split screen. Multiplayer maps are boring. No Forge mode at launch. Buggy. Microtransactions.
- Halo Wars 2: Campaign just kind of stopped. Flak from the Season pass. Used 343 Forerunner art instead of classic Bungie art, despite being on the Ark.

I keep hopeful, but I dunno. Maybe Im just scared to let the franchise go. Funny how their better games were just remaster's of Bungie's triumphs, but they can barely even get that right.

XCOM - Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2 are fantastic products. Moddability increase the longevity tenfold. Brilliant gameplay, and i'll always love the franchise from now on.

I doubt such a thing exists. You might be able to say there's an objectively bad game if it fails to function, but I don't think anyone could claim objective greatness in anything.

I suppose more along the lines of "generally recieved critical acclaim from most parties". Something like that.

So, something like DOOM, Half Life 2, Halo 3. These games are generally considered great by most people. 343's games are divicive at best..

Europa Universalis
Stellaris (counting the regular DLC expansions as a kind of series here)
Deus Ex
Civilisation
Warhammer TW
XCOM
Shadowrun returns
Pillars of Eternity (ok, they are only starting the series)
Blackguards

There were more in the past like Age of Wonders, Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and especcially Heroes of Might and Magic, but all those either died or i lost interest.

I don't know if there's anything I'd buy just because it's part of a series, but if it's a new Persona game that's not a spinoff, I'll definitely be watching it with more attention than most to see if it lives up to the hype.

Same goes for anything From Software puts out.

I'm a filthy fucking casual worthy of the highest disrespect and probably a brutal murder at some point whenever somebody can be arsed to do what I damn-well paid them to. So just imagine all those popular games like GTA, Red Dead Riddleremption, 3D Zeldas, SoulsBornes (yes, I even use the phrase nobody likes because fuck you, I like it!), Nintendo main entries in main IPs, Far Crys (Cries?), Dirt Rallies (Rallys?) and you'll have a pretty good summary with which to dismiss any further opinions from me...

Except...'must buys' for me are not really 'buy on release - must buys' but more 'ehhh, probably definitely get it at some point after reviews are out and it's cheaper - must buys'. Soooo it kind of counts?

Maybe I'll add Supergiant Games' work and whoever made Limbo/Inside to the list. They're like half casual, right?
