A crowbar !

oh and a good story is also important for me .
I love how you prioritise a crowbar over a good story :)

It depends what kind of fps it is. At the moment i want Serious Sam 3, so i'm looking for huge, stupid guns.
Yes, Serious Sam 3 will = the shit
Ah yes, it will. I'm playing through Serious Sam 2 on serious difficulty for the third time now (damn you Changs' playroom).

The graphics were average by todays standards (it looked half like a comic book and half game).
Do you mean that the graphics where average when it was realesed or average by todays standards? (Also, XIII is indeed an awesome game.)

A good storyline. Something more than: aliens took ever Earth, humanity is fighting back. Or, humanity colonised a new planet, aliens are fighting back.

COD 4 had a good a story.

Singleplayer? - Needs epic storyline, balance optional.

Multi-player? - Needs to be balanced, story optional.

Bit of both really. I have ntoiced that some people on this site have been a little too critical when it comes to graphics of older games. I am not sure if it was the style of game or the limited graphics but XIII was by far not the best looking game of its time. The way they did it though made it not matter. It was like playing in a comic book.

It needs to be MMO. No not room based i mean WOW mmo.
No BS brown/Grey Grit filters.
Guns beyond your imagination. (assult riffles are overrated)
Classes or tier type weapon requierments.
Prestige.
Prestige.
prestige.
Not being based off history in any way.
Aircraft, tanks, motorcycles, Boats, In all scales, yes i mean battle ships and flying fortresses.
Ability to switch from classic FPS to auto aim aided FPS and third person shooter controls with a valance so accessibility doesn't mean boredom.

Much more but this is pretty much what I'm planing to program when I'm done with my studies and bioware accepts my credentials lul.

Hmm I had an idea for a grappling hook that doubles as a way to disembowel enemies long range.

Realistic Body Movement is always a plus, and Health and Armour meters depending on the situation, because I really am getting a bit sick of regenerating health, it doesn't really make sense that you can recover from bullet wounds and explosions just by hiding for a few seconds, We're not Adam Monroe for goodness sakes. But I suppose if you were playing in a futuristic setting where nanotechnology has advanced to the point that everyone can have microscopic healing machines inside themselves, THEN regenerating health would make sense.

First person shooters revolve around Guns and Perspective.

One of the biggest things that made half life so good was the engine. Half Life 2 followed up with even better physics. Think about all the things you hated with bad games and fix it.

Gravity gun-good
shouldering weapons for a scope, but moving slower-bad
Razorwind- Good
every other gun from turok-bad
Portals-good, but not enough to base a game off of it, should be worked into gameplay on the regular.

And of course, all the cool weapons should be a little altered so that multiplayer is still fun.
