Well when it comes down to it GOW is a Greek tragedy. The only reason for a sequel is for story because the game play is spot on anyway. Hubris ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubris ) is a Greek word which means a pride in which a human feels he can in influence/ defy the gods. This is essentially what GOW is about. And since anyone who holds themselves above the gods will be punished Kratos will have tragedy after tragedy. He will kill his father marry his mother have a child and that child will fall in love with him (putting a few stories together and i realize his family is dead). Ultimately it will end in Kratos being brought down to size as a lowly depressed worthless human if thee games are true to the ancient Greek stories.

For everyone talking of redeeming Kratos, remember, the Story of "God of War" is supposed to tell why there aren't Greek Gods any more. I personally would like to see him redeemed in his own crazy, blood-filled way (going back in time and slaughtering the gods before any of this ever happens, so that it can't happen). And "WhiteFangofWar," I like your Idea of "Ragnorak."

Or if your playing "Tales of Phantasia," then it's "Kangaroo." because the translation is bad.

I didn't mean to sound rude, and if I did, sorry.
Not at all. But you need to understand that the Greek Gods didn't "end," they just packed up and moved to Rome under new names. It's not until Christianity takes off that the "Greek gods" are finally dead.

The point of tragedy in the Greek sense is to evoke pity and fear in the audience. GOW succeeded in that. I did pity Kratos in the first game. He was tormented by his actions resulting from a choice his pride caused him to make (i.e., calling on Ares for help). GOW2 though, while a great game was a let down in that regard. Oh, Kratos had to "win" because that was the game, but I really didn't care if he did.

About Ragnarök is that not the Norse belief?
Ragnarök is the Armageddon of the Norse Mythology, yes. There are alot of simmilarities between the Greek mythology and the Norse one.

There should be very epic battle against the Gods, like in "Shadow of the Colossus."
Maybe Kratos could re-harness the magic of Pandora's Box to grow to giant size and fight them on his terms.
It will probably start with the Titans' assault on Mt. Olympus from the climax of the 1st game, and then something will happen that will strip Kratos of all of the weapons, relics, and magic abilities that he collected in the 2nd game.

More puzzles I would like, the combat needs to be tweaked but only a little (don't know what its like for GOW2 but) when fighting enemies in that game, they don't look as if they are really bothered by it until the circle of death appears over there heads. And more than one animation for it as well, I'm sure theres more than one way to rip a head off a gorgan.

The quick time events/button mashing IS God of War, without it, or it taking a backseat, you're looking at Greek DMC.

Paper God of War.
Or Metal Gear of War. :D

I just want it to be the same, maybe with slicker graphics, massive fucking epicness and more reward. And a movable camera.

Bet that the developers will take the "Dont fix it if it aint broke" approach. They'll do whats worked in the past, with one or two new weapons, and a few over the top boss battles. It'll be a good game, but if I had to guess it won't be much different than the current installments.

I agree about the combat needing some work. There's just not enough cancel frames in Kratos's animations. It's easier for an enemy to stop Kratos's combo than it is for me.

hmm....simplify it. GoW 1 was great but 2 just tried way too much and just didn't feel right. It didn't have the right blend the first had.

Kratos did have a lot of dirty, unprotected threesomes in the series, so there is a good chance that one of his concubines was/is pregnant with his child(ren), and it would be interesting to play as his descendant.
