My question is, should I save up and replace my xbox360 console and buy some new games when they come out (note that I am now a hardcore console gamer, have been since December of 2006) OR should I save up to get a new computer that can support games such as Battlefield and Counter-Strike (Source, not 1.6, my CPU right now can support that.)
Considering that you're a self-described 'hardcore console gamer', you'd probably be most at home with a simplified interface, no installation times, less glitches, and a controller in your hand. Also, most developers will release new games on the consoles first, so you'll probably have a greater pick of games to choose from. And, as I've said, it'll be as much hassle as breathing, given that all you have to do with a console is turn it on and play.
PC, on the other hand, is much more powerful in terms of performance; if you buy a good PC, you could be looking at up to ten times more detail on a game such as Fallout 3. However, the primary reason here is due to modding. Many PC games have an active modding community which are a far more responsive and quick patching and update source for the game, giving it a vast edge over the console version; right now, my Fallout 3 is modded with about 60 mods, all tweaking with the game to make it more enjoyable to me. Now, on to the next section: price.

Now, if you choose the PC option, note that I am a fucking, I repeat, fucking nooblet when it comes to choosing gaming PC's that are relatively cheap and still work. What kind should I get?
Well, the most hardcore ones, like Alienware, are ridiculously powerful and cost up in the $3000-4000 range. However, they're as overpriced as they are powerful; I built my PC from the ground up for $1500 less than the equivalent Alienware rig (granted, I spared the gratuitous amounts of storage and the liquid cooling). Also, Dell has some passable gaming PCs in the $500 range, though with PCs, in general, the more money you spend, the greater the reward (and longevity) of your machine. Since you say you're a nooblet in this field, I guess I shouldn't suggest building your own PC, as this requires some knowledge of how they work...

Also, if I choose one or the other, should I sell my old one in order to get some of the money back? Or should I save it and use it as a back-up.
Depends on how much you thirst for cash. If you're willing to splurge a bit more on extra hardware, I'd say sell it. However, I'd say wait a bit if you choose the PC option; since you're a console native, maybe you won't exactly take to the desktop well.

Sorry this is so long, but I need some good feedback and this seems like the appropriate place to start.
You owe me money.
