What single player franchise would be even better with multiplayer?

There are tons of single-player franchises that would be even better with some multiplayer sprinkled on top( not the opposite as evidenced in Call of Duty.

Fallout has potential for some really fun multiplayer, Imagine exploring the wastes with you best friend taking all your ammo and shooting you constantly despite friendly fire being off in online co-op mode, and The post-apocalypse isn't lacking in warring factions for death-match or CTF(or maybe capture the nuke).

The thing is Fallout is a RPG series that is primarily aimed at story for the most part. Also there is a lot of talking involved and exploiration and for me personally I find these aspects to be more enjoyable by myself.

If the game became a multiplayer game with faction wars it would just turn into a mindless FPS game and most people would ignore the other aspects.

You could probably just make a mod for an already existing FPS game and change the appearence of the factions to those in the Fallout world and the weapons.

Also, didn't Fallout: Tactics have multiplayer?

I always thought the modern Fallout's could have an awesome multiplayer aspect. Really any cRPG, I like the idea of building up my character through the game and then taking them online to use against other people.

I've always wanted to play Mass Effect co-operatively. However, I do not want that at the expense of story, characterisation and everything else that makes that series so great.

So, maybe not...

I want more co-op, particularly in games like Dragon Age or KOTOR. Four people controlling their own character in a party, more like Neverwinter Nights.

Im not saying a to make multiplayer focused game, im saying make a new game with all the things fans will love, and on top of all that add a multi-player mode that's true to the franchise. Imagine relive Fallout New Vegas's final battle and it feeling like an actual war between two warring factions, that was one of my problems with New Vegas they spend the whole game hyping up a huge final battle, but it was just a bunch of linear corridors and never felt like a war the only part that did was the Operation Anchorage expansion for FO3.

I would like to have an online version of Final Fantasy Tactics. There is a serious lack of games like that for multiplayer.

Multiplayer? Only if it is defined solely as Co-Op and nothing else. I would even enjoy the 'serious' shooters a lot more.

Honestly, if a game is good as a single player, adding on multi-player might make a squeal go down hill. Every second being put into multi-player, is a second not being put into the game. That being said, I always wanted some form of multi-player in oblivion, but I certainly don't want a second being taken away from skyrim. So what if they brought it in with one of the expansion packs. skyrim had 2 big ones(knights of the nine + shivering Isles), and several smaller DLC's. So after skyrim is finished, maybe start on a DLC that adds co-op, which allows for friendly fire to be toggled, and an arena, you can go to.

Well, I didn't play New Vegas for the action, I played it primarily for the story and characters, so the ending did not disappoint me.

Also, Operation: Anchorage was extremely linear, the majority of it was just boring slogs through cliffs, caves, buildings and trenches. It had abysmal RPG elements and was just run and gun, there was almost nothing Fallout about it.

You also have to remember that by the time the Courier gets to New Vegas the war has already been going on for almost four years and most of the major fighting has already happened, it's just skirmishes left and of course the final battle.

Having multiplayer would just be a waste of time, money and resources...resources that could be spent on improving the single player aspect of the game.

As several people have mentioned, I believe most Bioware games have the great potential for co-op (and only co-op!) gameplay.

Imagine... One person playing as Shepard, laying down MG fire, another as Wrex charging down the center whilst the final as Garrus heading off to the side to provide a crossfire, Sniper support and sabotage.

Sweet :)

Well, lessee...

Torchlight. Just Cause 2 co-op. Several roguelikes would benefit from multiplayer. Or rather, I want to see more multiplayer roguelikes done somehow. Make it so one can revive the other at a cost or something?

Anyway, that's just off the top of my head.

Torchlight, definitely. I was actually appalled that Torchlight didn't have multiplayer.
THIS. I actually bought the game, assuming it had co op. Shame on me for not actually checking, but I did not check, cause I did not see a reason for it to exist without co op. I mean, it is a diablo clone only without the best part...

You're all in luck.
Torchlight 2 is going to have online co-op.

Just Cause 2 would be entertaining with a buddy. I don't really know how well a story driven multiplayer game would work. I guess we'll find out with TOR.
