In a perfect world where multiplayer didn't come at the cost of any time resources or effort, these would be games that I would like to have tried with more than one person. I won't say the games would definately be better, just that it would be something new that I'd like to try.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
- Especially if there was no communication allowed, it would be pretty interesting to try and, while it might take away from the fright factor, multiplayer would definately cause some interesting scenarios that would add to replay value.

The Legend of Zelda
- That is to say, a 3D console four swords game with non-linked cameras would be amazing I think and its something I've always wished Nintendo would try.

The Metroid Prime Series
- Would be pretty awesome, and while I dislike puzzle games that require teamwork if they just added in the ability to bring extra bounty hunters with you it could make for some more interesting combat.

Every RTS game ever
- Multi-player campaign modes in an RTS are pretty fun and I wish more of them would do that.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
- If the game became a real time multiplayer game that lacked long single space halls it could be a classic. But it won't.

Honestly? None. At all.

Take any strictly single player franchise popular enough to consider multiplayer. Now, subtract the quality of the multiplayer experience from the single player experience.
Now, all your long time fans are un-happy because their favourite single player franchise was made worse to satisfy a small percentage of the fan base, and to attract new customers. Most 'multiplayer gamers' aren't going to give a damn, because they already bought this years instalment of Call of Duty, and are too busy playing that to give a damn about your series' reinvention.

The best you can hope for is a pleasant distraction, like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Not deep enough to hook you endlessly, but not bad enough to make you angry.
Chances are, though, you'll end up with Resident Evil 5.

Just curious if you are aware that Interplay are currently in the process of making a Fallout MMO?

Voila, Fallout with multiplayer.

I quoted you both because one seems to want mulitplayer in Fallout and the other seems against it.

This way you both get your wish of sorts. Bathesda's Fallout games remain multiplayer free while the MMO Interplay managed to keep hold of is going to be a massive multiplayer Fallout game.
*sigh*

Yes I am aware that Interplay is making a Fallout MMO.

I am also aware that Bethesda are suing Interplay for the game because Bethesda like suing people and apparently because Bethesda think that the game will ruin the name of the Fallout franchise and go against lore.

The modern day Interplay is not the Interplay we used to know, however, Bethesda saying that they are going to ruin the Fallout name and go against lore, well...

...there is no finger big enough.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Bethesda and Fallout 3, Obsidian deserve the Fallout franchise more than anyone else based on three major facts;

1. They actually know how to make a Fallout game without comprimising lore
2. They have members who actually worked on the originals.
3. They actually know how to make a RPG, not what Bethesda call a RPG.

Sorry if that seemed like an attack against you, it wasn't.

I wouldn't mind a Fallout spin-off that's maybe a first person shooter set during the Pre-War era. Though, if they ever did make a game like that, it'd be probably be set in the same time period as the rest of the series, because of the oh-so marketable Brotherhood of Steel. I just think some of tech in the series would be interesting for a straight up FPS, but I don't think it would fit in with the timeline if took place after the Great War. That's just me though, and I really wouldn't want the main series to become multiplayer. I don't really think RPG's usually benefit from having multiplayer.

Fallout has potential for some really fun multiplayer, Imagine exploring the wastes with you best friend taking all your ammo and shooting you constantly despite friendly fire being off in online co-op mode, and The post-apocalypse isn't lacking in warring factions for death-match or CTF(or maybe capture the nuke).
The thing is Fallout is a RPG series that is primarily aimed at story for the most part. Also there is a lot of talking involved and exploiration and for me personally I find these aspects to be more enjoyable by myself.

If the game became a multiplayer game with faction wars it would just turn into a mindless FPS game and most people would ignore the other aspects.

You could probably just make a mod for an already existing FPS game and change the appearence of the factions to those in the Fallout world and the weapons.

Also, didn't Fallout: Tactics have multiplayer?
Like a fallout 3 mmo? I can see that working , but i can also see that costing A MEGATON of money.

EDIT: for fucks sake i quoted the wrong person

I would like to have an online version of Final Fantasy Tactics. There is a serious lack of games like that for multiplayer.
They kind of did that in War of the Lions, and it's not even half as strategic as you'd think.
It just degenerates into pitting broken character combos against each other, and flipping a coin to see who wins.

Absolutely none whatsoever, because you just know the singleplayer quality will suffer as a result.
My thoughts exactly! I don't play multiplayer so I don't need it and I don't want my single player experience suffering just to add on a feature I'll never use.

I want more co-op, particularly in games like Dragon Age or KOTOR. Four people controlling their own character in a party, more like Neverwinter Nights.
Agreed. I'm a sucker for good co-op RPGs, and I feel like DA or KOTOR would be great vehicles for some good co-op-ing.

If it was fallout with multiplayer factions it would be like brink no one cares and the game sucks so i say lets let the multiplayer game giants like cod or halo keep the crappieness of having multiplayer to them selves, because if bethesda focused on multiplayer they wouldn't have as much time to explore new elements.

i think prototype 1v1 multiplayer would be awesome, with all the game mechanics, and the whole single player map, it would be awesome. Imagine both players having all the skills from single player in 1v1 duels, or there i 1 guy playing as mercer, and a whole team of other player as Blackwatch,

that game has massive multiplayer potential, and a multitude of fun game modes are possible

I'd have to go with Kingdom hearts, I know there are some parts where it is just the single guy running around, but I remember at the time really wishing they would let a 2nd person play as Donald, Goofy, or whoever you picked to replace Goofy in the world.

That would be cool like having games where you can do duels with your friends, also why does cod still only have up to 8v8 css has 16v16 or even 20v20 and its oooolllldddd
