I would like to know what everyone listens to when they are in certain situations. I know music helps me get through my problems, well here are the categories:

1. You need to get pumped up.
2. You are in a bad mood.
3. After you break up with a girl/boy
4. To relax

Mine are

1. Down With the Sickness by Disturbed
2. Stayin' Alive by The Bee Gees
3. I Will Survive covered by Cake
4. Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd

1. Ready to Die - Andrew WK
2. Anything really.
3. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life- Monty Python.
4. I don't usually listen to music to relax but I would go with Comfortably Numb also.

2- 'As The Palaces Burn' - Lamb of God
3- been a while since i last broke up with someone, id probably stick some Apocalyptica on if i suddenly split with my girlfriend tomorrow...
4- 'From So Far Away' - All Shall Perish

...I tend not to listen to just one song at a time, or the same song over and over, but...

1. Anything Prog Metal. Between the Buried and Me is always a good band choice.
2. Within Temptation... Damn near anything that woman has sung. Takes my mind off of stuff.
3. Nothing specific. Doesn't really bug me much.
4. I have an extensive classic rock playlist for this purpose. Mixes well with good beer.

It varies.

A new one I picked up

Another recent one that I've posted fairly regularly

2. You are in a bad mood.
Depends.

3. After you break up with a girl/boy
4. To relax
Struck through one doesn't invoke music.

On 4, I rather like this:

1. The Way We Get By [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-S4nM5m_Kg] - Spoon
2. The Man Upstairs [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXBPOxtPeBk] - Voltaire
3. The Freshmen [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVNAp1C8LIw]- The Verve Pipe
4. Castles In The Sand [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV4fQyW8gcU] - The Philosopher Kings

I tend to go for resonance when I'm feeling down. If someone's written a song about it, then that somebody likely had a pretty good feeling of what that experience is like. I'd rather take part in a shared experience, maybe focus on what happened in a different way, than trick myself into feeling something different and ignoring it.

'Course, you could always substitute #3 with Cee Lo Green's Fuck You [http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xeidub_cee-lo-green-fuck-you_music].
