The "Nothing Else Matters" cover of Metallica by Apocalyptica. When the solo hits and you hear that haunting sound of those cellos sending out the beautiful solo notes, you can't help but be stopped in your tracks.
Okay.So i just listened to it.And i´m tearing up a little here.

Brick, by Ben Folds.
So honest and sincere.

Open Arms, by Journey.
Reminds me of loves past.

I can feel a Hot One, by Manchester Orchestra
It's...sad and beautiful.

Wrong by depeche mode.

I got so horribly depressed when I heard that.

Really the wrong way to get into someone's soul.

As big a metalhead as I am, surprisingly it is:

Here without you - 3 Doors Down

However there are personal reasons why that song connects to me, so it is to be expected I guess.

Street Scene by Leon Mitchison. That song always gets a groove going on in my head, no matter where.

'Im only me when i'm with you' or 'Love story' (both by Taylor Swift).

I can only guess its because they make me long for one thing... my boyfriend.

There are various others but the list is endless. If the words mean something, the song means something. Some songs stay in my mind for ages then a new one takes over.

"Toki No Horosha" by Risa Ohki. It's Sung to the tune of Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy VI, and it's hard to describe, but it's one of the most beautiful songs I've heard.

There's also a vocal version of "Prelude", and it's amazing.

In the 'Far More Angry' department:
this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLSoXeA97PM]

In the 'bleak, utter despair' category:

This absolutely destroys me. Every. Time. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txuXjUk_voU] Both the song and the movie the guy used for the vid.

The only good thing to come out of that abomination that is 'Twilight'. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H47oQH1TW4] Kinda wish he finished the whole song (read the lyrics instead of watching the fangirl-slobbering video)

Fade to Black by Metallica rates up there.

The Cure - Disintegration

This one also hurts on a personal level [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-w5EghjrN0]

I got tons more. Music really strikes a deep chord in me. Too bad I can't play a single instrument... :p

Nagisa's Theme, from Clannad. Though I do know why that one hits me so deep... almost made me cry just hearing the song for a while after I finished the anime...
Oh carp, is it really that sad? I don't wanna finish watching it...
Oh, it's sad. I guarantee, no matter how tough you are, you will cry at least once, especially in After Story. But it really is an amazing story, and it does end well (though you may want to wiki the ending afterward: they managed to fit both endings from the game into the show, but it's a tad confusing). That show became my favorite anime: I would highly recommend sticking to it.

I just recommend watching the last half of After Story when you have time to marathon it: it works better that way, trust me.

A song called "Maybe Tomorrow is a Better Day" by Poets of the Fall a Finnish band.

If they sound familiar they sang "Late Goodbye" (another great song) for the ending of Max Payne 2.

Heres the song played in a fan made Half Life 2 video. Its done rather well.
poets of the fall <3

roses and carnival of rust are two beautiful songs
Woot another fan :). Yea those two songs are definately up there of my favorite POTF songs. In fact they haven't made a song that I haven't like yet, their all done brilliantly.
