I am SO ECSTATIC to see someone, somewhere, knows of Warren Zevon. Favorite artist of all time. I'm sure he's raising hell in Denver as we speak.
I'm a bit of a fan too.

Hoping to have all the Lps one day too.

  • AC/DC
    Led Zeppelin
    Black Sabbath
    Pink Floyd
    Budgie
    Deep Purple
Wolf mother (A rip off of old rock)
    The Angles
    Billy Squire
    The Doors
    Grand Funk Railroad
    Humble Pie
    Jefferson Airplane
    T-Rex
    Queen
    Talking Heads
    Uriah Heep
    Warren Zevon
    and The Who
This works. I'd also recommend early Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Metallica (more metal I know but still Master of Puppets is awesomes!),Rolling Stones, Journey (DONT STOP BELIEEEEEEEEVING) and Bon Jovi. That's a good set to get started with and then fan out. And I mean some newer rock is also pretty good. For example; Cage and The Elephant (check out their song from Borderlands, Ain't No Rest For The Wicked). And I'd also recommend checking out older Guitar Hero set lists since they'll have some good tracks. Especially the Guitar Hero 3 "Bonus" Songs have a few hidden gems.

Yeah. Some people collect Pokemon, Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh, but me--Warren Zevon. Unfortunately, I discovered him pretty damn late. Late 90s, I believe. When I heard he was dying, I tried desperately to see him perform live, but it just wasn't in the cards. Heh.. perform live when he's already busy dying... but he did.

Thankfully, Youtube has a wealth of his live videos. It's truly amazing. Like this little gem...

The audio's a little lopsided, but it's the best performance you'll hear of that song. At least, I think so.

And Widespread Panic do a great cover of Lawyers, Guns and Money. That's actually how I was introduced to them.

Ninja'd on just about everything...except ELO. Pretty surprised they haven't been mentioned yet.
