This is my first Thread on the Escapist so It may seem a bit amateur

What songs bring back memories of you playing certain games? whether in the soundtrack,what you were listening to at the time or anything else

For me its anything by Soundgarden or Alice in Chains because I listened to them during my innocent days of grinding World of Warcraft all damn summer last year.

(days which I will NEVER get back!!!)

I honestly rarely listen to music when playing games, as I usually love the in game music, and it can really contribute to the game as a whole. I only usually listen to music when the in game music suxors.
That said, I suppose hearing anything by prodigy reminded me of playing Unreal Tournament, as I used to do that for hours into the am.

Megadeth and any song from the album "Neetmania" makes me think of Fallout 3

Opeth makes me think of Fallout Tactics

Lamb of God makes me think of Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2

But those are bands, not songs. I can't really think of any individual songs that I connect to games.

An obscure French heavy metal band called Nightmare reminds me of World Of Warcraft... good times.

Also, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips always reminds me of Resident Evil 4, because after I beat it first time (I always runthrough first times with the game music, then subsequently use my own) I played it through about six times to the soundtrack of that album.

Also (it's already been said, but not by me, dammit!) welcome to the Zero Punctuation forums!!

(I am of course joking).

I went out of my way to find the Beyond Good and Evil soundtrack. Peyj's death song always strikes a cord in my heart...which makes me wonder how crazy I am for feeling sad for a talking pig.

Fu Manchu and clutch make me think of forza3. It's what i tend to listen to whilst racing.
But it has to be Ace of spades and tony hawks. What a soundtrack that game had.

Whenever I played Fallout I would play DropKick Murphys soo ya. Dream Theater is definatly linked to late late TF2 nights, and Katy Perry reminds me very vaguely of Easter Plague Lands in WoW... I got the CD when i was around lvl 50 >.>

The Cheers theme song brings back memories of me kicking Darth Vader's LEGO ass in LSWII for the PSP, it was perfectly synched too. I was playing the game on a car trip and our CD played that track.
