The byrds cover of Mr Tambourine man was pretty terrible. I am not sure how anyone could see that better than the original.

Matter of opinion, dude, and mine is pretty widely held.

Just for some measure of proof, or evidence, this website collates various critics "best of" lists into overall rankings. Mr Tambourine Man, by the Byrds, is rated as the 31st best song ever whereas Dylan's is in the 900s.

Obviously this is far from definitive, and I wouldn't have rated it so highly myself, or dylan's version so lowly, but it is genuinely considered to be a really good version of the song.

I don't listen to much music. Mostly video game songs, tv show/movie scores, and tv show theme songs. But I can still say that the Movie version of "Pokemon Johto" is far superior to the TV version.
