Strobe by Deadmau5. Also imo one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard.
(video snipped)
I agree that Strobe is a brilliant composition, but depressing? Eh, I guess we differ on that.

Anyway...
Yeah...even more so given its context.

Also, the segment of the final movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony that starts with "Seid umschlungen, Millionen", while extraordinarily beautiful, leaves me a bit sad sometimes. I can't really quantify why.

The Parting Glass- Liam Clancy
That's kind of bittersweet, not truly sad.

Bless the Child- Nightwish

Eva- Nightwish

Not to everyone's taste, but also The Price of a Mile and Cliffs of Gallipoli by Sabaton.

I could. Thanks for reminding me. Brilliantly melancholical.

Basically this whole album. Puts me in such a mellow mood. Brilliant music though.

Also anything by Simon and Garfunkel. Not really depressing, but similar.

This song does it for me:

And this one does, too

And I think this song has never failed to make me tear up

And, of course, this one

And I think I'll stop with this one

It doesn't outright depress me, but Social Distortion's "Reach for the Sky" definitely puts life in perspective and makes me feel a little melancholy.

+1 for Cat's in the Cradle. -2 for Ugly Kid Joe.

Now, if you would have said Harry "Gapin'" Chapin, I would have given a +10. Chapin sings that song with such heart I can't help but tear up about it.
Agreed. But the Ugly Kid Joe video is also depressing so you can get a double dosage.
