(a search for similar thread turned out negative, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was one already.)

Whether it is pen and paper, digitalized RPG's, daydreaming or otherwise. Is there any type of character or perhaps a specific one you typically play?

I personally used to be a die hard magician. Though the interest cooled off with time and a little kick from Harry Potter. Nowadays I prefer the priest/healer type of characters, specifically the kind displayed in Warcraft (embracing some force or ideology instead of sucking up to a deity and/or burning witches) and some other places. But I occasionally enjoy the "simplicity" of a mundane warrior or archer/rogue aswell.

Healers or psycho bitches.
And, of course, the occasional lizard-warrior.

Either Hunter (LOTRO) or like a Mageyspellcaster (WoW) I like to be either the guy making everything explode with fire or the one drawing a bead from 250m

Dark Magic user or stealth guy, although in futuristic/modern Rpgs I'll play a mid/short range character, using a rifle for long range and an SMG for mid range finishing moves.

Mostly likely and evil mage with LONG ranged attacks so I don't have to be the one taking the blows.

Female dpser or tank. Not going to sit on the side and heal but will cast time-to-time. (ie WoW Lock dps caster)

I'm always the warrior/magician/omnipotent killing machine. I like playing judge, jury, and executioner.

Pen&Paper: I often play against stereotype: Armored mage, unarmored fighter, multiclassing whenever possible. (And i ALWAYS have hidden tricks)

in MMORPG's: the class with the most "sophistication". It is boring enough, i don't have to be tank or such...

Singleplayer: Either Berserker (most damage, i don't need armor or such... i want to end lives, not preserve it *g*) or summoner (Let others work)

I like supporting others from a distance. I prefer being an archer over anything else. I also like playing as a character with ESP, or a mage if the former is not available (which it usually isn't). Last but not least, I may also choose to play as the healer.

I try and play a sophisticated barbarian type with a big sword who does evil things but who everyone still thinks is good

Pen&Paper: I always try to be creative by having something weird/unique about my character and they are usually awesome at one thing, but shit at all else.

RPG: I tend go for the higher agility/speed, lower strength character.

I always used to play the balls-to-the-wall warrior who is all about BLOOD AND THUNDER.

Now I prefer to play a supporting cast (think WoW Paladin before they were gods of destruction) or a ranger.

Ambushers and Healers, usually.

Healers are usually low pressure and let me blame my incompetent allies, and succesfully ambushing people is the best feeling in any videogame ever.

When I get very bored I play the bust down the front door and repaint the lobby guy. But in most games too many people play that already.
