(a search for similar thread turned out negative, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was one already.)

Whether it is pen and paper, digitalized RPG's, daydreaming or otherwise. Is there any type of character or perhaps a specific one you typically play?

I personally used to be a die hard magician. Though the interest cooled off with time and a little kick from Harry Potter. Nowadays I prefer the priest/healer type of characters, specifically the kind displayed in Warcraft (embracing some force or ideology instead of sucking up to a deity and/or burning witches) and some other places. But I occasionally enjoy the "simplicity" of a mundane warrior or archer/rogue aswell.
Anything that bets on laying traps and deceiving the other.

Glass cannon gambler =p.

Mage/Rogue, then, I guess.

Varies from game to game. Usually whatever deals the most damage in the least time. The shorter my enemies are alive the less damage they can do to me, right?

The thing least encouraged by the game. In shooters, I find a way to play melee. In medieval/fantasy settings focused highly on melee, I go for any ranged stuff. I use the least useful weapons and abilities.

I'm always "That Idiot Who's Using The Worst Gun, Seriously Why Would He Do That It's Terrible."

I'll either be a total tank, or a rouge, specializing in OHKO's and poisons. I'm all about dealing insane amounts of damage, as fast as possible.

Mage/spellcaster most of the time. Don't care for archery at all and mage seems to always do more damage in a shorter amount of time.
Except in Fable 2. The Will system in that couldn't of failed more in my opinion, the system in Fable 1 worked, why change it!

Stealthy Theif, who breaks into places and takes everything you have on display and in your pockets; then is really nice to your face and will travel to the ends of the earth to save your brother (stealing everything on the way).

I usually play as a good guy or a tough guy that does good things but, for my first run in Fallout 3, I decided to play as a merciless bastard. It's a good change of pace.

Aw, man, the things I did to Tenpenny Tower...

Also, Malkavian.

If I'm given dialogue choices I play a wise-cracking pick up artist. In RPGs I usually kill everyone who rubs me the wrong way and steal when I can get away with it.

If I can customize the character look I usually make the guy a lanky ugly ************ or a hot redhead or Chicano chick.

whenever the option is given to me, I take the run and gun character.

I do not take melee, and to not like the stand back ranged stuff, close range stooting is my thing. Like the Pyro in TFC or my beast mastery ranger in Guild wars.

But failing that (most rpgs do) I will take the support character, usually a dps/healer hybrid. I will do my damage, but defensively, if possible.

Tank. Heavy weapons guy, knight classes, or looking anything remotely like Al from FMA. And a giant Flipping sword :p

I play as a stealthy, devious, thieving assassin. I rarely ever change my style of play as when I do I instantly get owned by everyone/everything that moves. Plus I have the patience to go throughout a game as a stealthy character without getting bored.

I like to play characters that can do a bit of everything. I also like to play attackers that can hit very fast if it's an action game in which I actually control my character (basically, not an MMORPG).
