The cool, collected, womanising rouge who's very rough round the edges. The kind of guy you either love or hate who probably would betray you if he felt like the otherside might win. Always knows the wrong thing to say at the right moment kind of thing.

Imagine a funnier, drunken Aragorn meets Jack Sparrow type guy and your nearly there.

:p

I prefer a magic or powers-based protagonist. Though lower levels are usually more challenging and result in lots of instant death, if you can survive long enough to make it up the ranks, you usually end up with one of the most powerful characters. In games with no such class, I'll play as a stealth character...especially with a sniper rifle.

Personality wise I like mis fits. Geeks, weirdos and bizzar creatures are generally what I go for.

In terms of class I'm usually a magician or simular.

I normally go for either a pure mage or spellsword. I don't play WoW so this is mainly Oblivion. My best character was a pure mage, but I maxed out his combat magick skill so I threw some glass armor on him ( custom enchanted ) and got the Ebony Blade. No one messes with me now

In pen and paper RPGs I always just get as much strength and defence as humanly possible, then put everything else into offensive traits.

Console RPGs I'm usually a fan of the magic. Such as in oblivion where my Breton has all his magic abilities to 100.

I like playing as some of the lesser played classes. You know, the ones everyone laughs at. Like the Bard. Man, do I ever love playing as a bard.

I gain people's trust in Fallout 3, do quests to get good karma from, pickpocket them, then kill them with VATS before they know what hit them. However, I was good on my first inFamous playthrough...

I guess a psychotic, sociopath assassin :p

If I can, I'm typically a berserker melee type of some sort. It's rather fun, because then my character has just as much subtlety and tact as I do in real life.

I always prefer the silent, stealthy types. If allowed to make my own character, I usually tend to give my assassin a high intelligence, just for personal preference ^.^

I generally play the dwarven tank, partly due to complete lack of ingenuity and partly because the people I play with all like playing as elves for some reason. And everyone knows elves break faster than dead twigs.

Most fun I had however was in a semi-futuristic forum rpg where I got to play as a suicidal psychotic. By the time the party had decided on a battle strategy my char was stabbing the first enemy in the back.

Depends on the game and depends on the party. In fantasy, I'm usually the up-close technical fighter or a ranger specced for close combat. Of course, I will also play the spontaneous spellcaster if it's necessary.
In Star Wars RPGs, I play either a really short dude with Form IV mastery and strong Force powers or a dual-wielding 'saber master.
Outside of that, scythes and wings go well with highly-noticeable ninja. That's all I got to say.

A good guy but sort of a renegade, like a Han Solo-ish character. Uses a gun if possible. Usually not a human if possible.
