What style should I go with?

So I'm at yet ANOTHER roadblock (see my muse thread), assuming i get over my inability to start when i sit at my desk, what style should i go with for a superhero cartoon? There's a lot of styles to choose from, but considering that i am making this cartoon to bring back the glory days of superhero cartoons to the peoples, i figure i should at least get some input from some peoples. If you're wondering what the show is about, its simple: A group of superheroes dealing with a particular pain in the ass every episode leading to epic battles. For fear of losing my work to theives i dont really wanna display the main characters however im i'll tell you about 2 of them that come later on in the series, 1 good guy and 1 bad guy just to make it even:

(Hero) Niles: Water based superhero, can generate water in infinite quantity at will and can control any source of it into whatever fashion he sees fit. I.e., if he needs to travel from 1 side of a lake to another, he can use the water to propel himself forward acting as a jetboat.

(Villian) Adixion (pronounced Addiction): Can bring graffiti to life and control it, however it's strength is based on its creator and it's detail. I.e., if its a stick figure holding a rock you could fart at it and it would die from the smell, however if its something like this it's gonna take at least 3 heroes to take it down.

There's also an episode in the series where he manages to trap the main heroes in a room thats completely covered in his art, transporting them into his personal hell.

Back to the styles, here are the ones i want to use and i would really appreciate some input on this, and if you made it this far, thank you for reading my emo-ness.

Style #1: Anime (Hellsing Ultimate Style)

Although the most overused style of the age, i think alot of people tend to go towards it because of its familiarity.

Style #2: The John K. (Ripping Friends)

Ripping friends was one of my most favorite shows when i was a kid, and the Ripping Friends was the first time I had ever seen an action cartoon like that, both funny and comic like at the same time.

Style #3: X-men and Evolution

Just out of pure nostalgia I would do it in either one of these styles, I'm sorry im a bit of a sentimentalist.

Style #4: Justice League

Now I know that this seems alot similar to X-Men Evolution but i know there's a difference damn it, i just wish i knew what it was

and thats my dilemma, what style should i go with? or if you have a better style you'd like for me to take a look at, POST IT!

Are you actually capable of replicating all of these styles? If so, I must applaud you for that kind of versatility.

I can, but that's both my strength and my weakness, i can emulate easily what i see however im unable to come up with my own style that doesnt suck. Believe me i've tried

Go nostalgia style. The difference between evolution JL is the amount of shading and detail.

Ah, I know what you're saying. I actually know quite a few artists with your problem. Usually comes from drawing too much fanart for too long.

I say you go all Order of The Stick on it.

Seriously though, if you can do it all Jack Kirby-style, why settle for anything less?

I think the X-men one looks a bit too scruffy, but that's just personal opinion. Something like style 1 might go well, perhaps?

Justice League and Ripping Friends styles seem to simplistic to me... But then again, they can work depending on what genre your cartoon is supposed to be. Sort of a satire/ comedy could work with these styles... Not sure about more serious stuff.
It's really kind of hard to say what specific category it's going to be, cause it's gonna be a mix of things, action (duh), comedic, dark, twisted, etc, etc. Another reason for the dilemma lol

You could try mixing styles. Like: nostalgia with anime. You might create a new type of anime. I would try all styles and different combinations, then get some constructive criticism.

The justice league people all look too top heavy. How come superheroes are always extremely buff? Only the villains are ever depicted as skinny or fat.

You'd think if you had eye-beams or a magic ring, you wouldn't be so obsessed about working out.

Is this project more action-oriented? Of, from the language you used ("pain in the ass each episode"), is there some comedy mixed in?

In the case of something more action-oriented, you can't go wrong with anime or X-men's style. It's full of detail, color, and tones that can carry the action and appeal to certain audiences (though I'd recommend against the old X-men cartoon habit of skimping on frame rate; it was really annoying to see someone finish moving their lips before they were done talking or vice versa). However, for something with a comedic edge, try the JLA or John K styles; they seem to use simpler shapes and flatter tones and therefore look a bit more "cartoony".

Or, if you're feeling adventurous, blend two styles together. There is plenty of anime that looks like it was done in the X-Men style (try Tekkaman Blade as an example). And cartoony styles that borrow from anime (like that Teen Titans series on Cartoon Network).

Definitely the nostaligia style. By the way the concept behing the character Adixion is brilliant!
Drawings come to life? Reminds me of the TMNT episode where Donatello meets Jack Kirby.
