George Lucas is from a city about 10 minutes away from my hometown. He's not entirely terrible, but he did give us the prequels.
Edit: The guy who plays the main character in The Hurt Locker is from the same city. He's even worse.

Only three artist from Portsmouth, England have ever made it to the top 40. The first two were novelty acts in the 70s and 80s.

The other is Same Difference.

The lead singer of Boys Like Girls went to my middle school. They're not god-awful, but they are pretty lame, and I got really tired of hearing "The Great Escape." In 7th grade we had to pick a song to go with the theme of a book and 90% of the kids picked that.

To my knowledge, there's no-one from Perth really noteworthy ITT.

Anyone?

There's a fucking statue of this guy in the town near mine.

Yep. It's not a huge one, but a statue nonetheless, and his biography was sold out in a few minutes here.

I don't get it.
Well, that's creepy.

Not much else to say, unfortunately. o_O

Well, I can't think of any terrible bands, but Dream Theater recorded half their albums at Bear Tracks Studios that was in my hometown. They were literally, right down the road and we never knew.

I don't think there are any terrible artists from my hometown or the town I live in now.
