I just reloaded the escapist a second ago, and some weird shit happened.
I was looking at a thread, just casually F5, and I almost shit myself.
The middle section dimmed, like a translucent black layer above it, but that ain't the jist of it.
The two sides were nightmare inducing. the left side had a skeletal hand giving me a thumbs up, and the right had some mutated demonic mammoth skull thing that looks like it came straight from a horror movie.

Anyone else experience this too?

I'm starting to fear this website.

EDIT: just saw it again. Now that I was "expecting" it, I didn't immediate ravage F5, so I got a good look at it. The hand ain't skeletal, but it's all sorts of fucked up, and the skull ain't a mammoth, it's Cthulhu. I think. Or, maybe it is a mammoth with one too many tusks.

OT: I did ask Kross yesterday if he had anything planned, but he said no. Maybe it's just a little bug? I'll let the Staff on IRC know when they wake up!

Alo, the picture that takes over is Cthulu giving the thumbs up. I just had it and was going to make a thread about it. It will probably still happen until Kross shows up to get rid of it.

Edit: Oh, and the damn thing is huge. My current resolution is 1920x1080, and it doesn't come close to fitting.

Well you beat me to making this thread, because I was about to if nobody hadn't. Though, I kind of figured it was an Escapist April Fools thing.

Huh... I think that also happened to me, but there was no Cthulhu the whole page just turned black while the Escapist logo just dimmed. Good thing that was it because if the page turned into what you described I would probably soil my pants, Cthulhu scares the shit out of me.

I am going to come back to this site in a day or two... just to be safe.

Yeah, I never got Cthulhu, I just got a dimmed screen with unreadable text, which was irritating as shit. Kross, make sure your shit works on multiple different computers and browsers before you pull this again.
