Like, these books were never any sort of culturally significant soapbox of any kind, but what's happened now is just ridiculous. It's turned into evangelical garbage. WHY! My childhood, it stings with the bite of massive fail.

Oh, whatever! It's not like you read them anymore, and if these didn't exist, there are tons of other lesser-known-to-the-atheist-public little kid Christian series.

To answer your question, the authors' son helped write this new batch. So that's what happened.

My wife is five months pregnant and they were a staple of my childhood, so yes, I probably was going to end up purchasing and reading them to my son or daughter. Not anymore.

Ugh...... I hated those books as a child, but, for some damn reason, I loved the video game they made from it.

Umm I was always a good night moon kind of man myself.

Yeah I think they got shifted out of teh spotlight as soon as Dora came in. We rather read books based on TV then just books based on books

*sigh*

I'm sorry your childhood is being felt up in a dark alley somewhere.
But as a gamer/geek, you should be used to this by now.
You make a very good point, Max.

I remember those books.

I remember burning them in my back yard the day I decided to be an atheist.

So? Just get the old ones if you don't like the new ones. Problem solved. Odds are you can find copies on Amazon or Borders or something.

I remember I actually had a novel version with an anti-drug message. It was one of my favorite books as a kid, even though I didn't really get the message till I was older. Still, it had a good plot.

And why do I smell smoke?
