What the hell did I do?

Yesterday, I was talking with some friends, some a##hole came up and called me a "fat sack of s##t", now normally I would just ignore these people. But for some reason I don't know, I started throwing punchs and kicks (NOTE: This is the first time this has happened, I have never before gotten violent or angry towards other people) He did not fight back due to what I guess was surprise (Me getting angry/violent). Does anyone have any ideas to what the hell happened? Thank you.

EDIT: Yes I knew him, I was not bored, and thank you.

EDIT 2:No no no. what I meant was that (if you had read it) I have never gotten angry or violent towards others before.

EDIT 3: This is not me looking for pity. Is there a chance that I am actually wondering why I did this?
