Shut up, it was £2 in the newsagents and I was bored.
I bought Stronghold for £5 and it seemed to me like the ultimate game, greatly surpassing games made 5 years later.

Ninety Nine Nights, from the flashy trailer I was expecting a JRPG - which is a genre that seems to gather a lot of hatred from the gamer community, but I like them - played the first mission and was like "Oh, it's basically Dynasty Warriors". Over the next few weeks whenever I had a spare moment and absolutely nothing better to do I'd pick it up and play precisely one mission before turning it off again in a vain attempt to get my money's worth. Got to about mission 4 and then just honestly couldn't take anymore.

Prince of Persia. Though it was about 2 hours into the game where the black goo comes in. I tried to keep on playing, but that stupid switch turning maze made me hate it. In the backlog with you, PoP!
Hopefully the new one, a supposed return to Sands of Time form, will live up to its trilogy of predecessors.

Fingers crossed...

Farcry 2 for me. It was just balls. I just had the feeling I should buy a game, and at the time FC2 was the only thing remotely plausible. Shouldn't have done it.

Yes yes yes I have.

Bought MGS4 and it was freaking awful. I played for about 2 hours without once having to use stealth, just run n gunned my way through it.

So I traded it in for £15 then saw Saints Row 2 for £15 and bought that. Another poor decision, what an absolute pile of turd that game was. I don't even need to explain why, it's just so obviously bad.
Is thou serious?

Every MGS game you can run through and shoot anything with a heartbeat and still complete the game, the real test is putting on the hardest difficulty and crap yourself when you relies the guards can see, smell and hear you far cry style (AKA from 2 miles away ... through a box ... behind a wall .. in a dark corner).

As for saints row 2, I think it's everything (every?) GTA should have been, a fun gangster game, that doesn't take itself to seriously, lets you customize ALOT of stuff (yourself, "crib" and car), walk around in a gang (like a gangster) and have fun side quests, who didn't enjoy the ambulance missions? Then getting the defibrillator's to kill people with ... only to bring them back to life with them.

Or did you just choose them to be cool for hating good games?

On topic, DoW 2. What the hell happened? In skirmish mode I can have the best units in 4 clicks! There is no building what so ever and it's about as fun as playing tennis with your testicles.

Oblivion.

Not because it was bad, because I unsuspectingly picked it up one day, came home and went missing for 4 months.

It took me forever to build up my skin pigment after that.

Also: Prince of persia was one of my favorite games. I absolutely love the platformer genre, and really wish I was seeing more of it. It really nailed the platforming segments with a fine coat of polish.

Why all the hate? Just because it wasn't the same as the ps2 versions? Seriously can we get more supprt for the platformer genre before it dies out completely like

hmmmmmmmmm.... you know, I have had that type of situation and yet I have forgotten just what games they were. Considering I have over 500 games in my modest collection I'm sure there are quite a few in there that I don't quite remember.

Left 4 Dead. I used to have this rule that "I will research a game to the end before deciding whether to buy it, unless it's made by Valve". That rule is now five words shorter.
I'd like some elaboration here. Did you enjoy the game at all and found it too short for example? Are you counted among the list of people who feel that the content delivered was insufficient and feel slighted that you weren't given more free stuff? Did you just hate the game in general?

Recently, Perfect Dark Zero. I'm sure it was a pretty good game back when the 360 was released and there were hardly any titles for it, but it's just really boring, wasn't worth the 5 dollars I spent on it.
No, it really wasn't :p

I picked it up because the first PD on the N64 was an awesome sandwich, but the sequel sucked.

My choice would be Far Cry 2, I bought it preowned for about a fiver and played about two hours before getting so bored that my brain literally (Note: not literally) dissolved and dribbled out of my ears.
