So I was reading Yahtzee's extra punctuation and I was at the point where he was saying that cutscenes should never contain any action, or at least any action happening too the player's character that he could be doing and should be used for exposition.
For some reason (never ask why) that got the image of a player character talking to an NPC in a bare room and suddenly a car comes through the wall and turns the NPC into paste on the floor, leaving the player character alone in the room, somehow unhurt and wondering what he has to do now (and maybe a little shocked).
Any way, what I was getting at is, have you ever had a moment in a video game where the plot has been cut off by an NPC death or the comms go down just as someone is about to explain it all and then have to do another mission to get the plot back on the go again?
Or can you design a more looney way for the plot to be cut off? Or at a more inopertune moment?
