What to do during Prom?

Good move, my man. Prom always sucks. I didn't go either and plus, I don't know about your school, but mine was trying to charge fifty bucks a person to get in. No thanks!

You'll also want some desserts up there with your food. I think a big cake with some retarded/funny icing decoration would be appropriate. Maybe something about the cake is a lie if you've got appropriately nerdy friends. Candy everywhere. Lots of beer if you can pull it off.

I like Rocky Horror Picture Show, don't know if you're into that kind of deal. Check out the Super Mario Brothers movie from the 90's, too, that shit is hilarious(ly bad). I might get burned for this, but I have an unnatural love for Zoolander. Hot Fuzz, Sean of the Dead, Die Hard (the first one only!), Mortal Kombat, Boondock Saints... There are tons of great movies out there.

For your set up, I know from experience that it is really fun to move all the furniture out of the biggest room and then cover the floor in pillows, cushions and blankets. Even more awesome if you can build a big tent that covers your TV so you can pack in all your friends and watch movies in there. Throw some stupid Christmas lights around, pass the Doritos, and you're fucking set.

Don't worry, my friends aren't going either, one broke up with his gf, and the others didn't have any gfs to start with. About the only competition this thing would have is a Pearl Jam concert... and I wouldn't blame anyone for choosing that over this.

If that's still too pricey, you can just queue up some porn.

For food, bake some nacho dip. Real easy. Just dump ingredients into a baking pan in layers. Layers of refriend beans, followed by a layer of ground beef (just saute in a pan), followed by sour cream, followed by shredded monterey jack/american/cheddar cheese. Bake it at like 325 until it starts to form a crust from the cheese on top, serve with a spoon onto nice wide tortilla chips. Terrific food for a buncha guys, and easy enough that a guy could do it, it's just throwing stuff in a pan and heating it.

oh Prom I only went to my Jr one but it was tight got to dance with my all my lady friends and at skool we had this thing called a pre-prom mixer where we had free food and and had had about a hour just to mess around and then everybody checked out early.

I spent prom night with my friends getting high as kites and drunk as skunks. Vastly preferable to high school bullshit. That was 1994 for junior prom and '95 for senior, so I offer this along with movie Dazed and Confused as proof that some things never change.

Find something fun to do and do it. The more friends and potential memories, the better, but really the former is the only mandatory part---you don't want to be alone on prom night because that's not a protest, that's being a loser who not only couldn't get a date but couldn't even find other people not going to prom to hang out with.

I'm finishing community college in two months. Just got my acceptance packet to the University of Nevada for fall. I'm as giddy as a 17-year-old at the thought. Keep the faith, man.

Ya know you only have the opportunity for the milestones of youth once (or in some schools you can go to prom twice) Wouldn't you rather go with friends and just go stag? Couple of my friends did back when and were glad they did. Besides it sounds like you'll spend as much money on this party, likely more, than you would for prom. You could hold the party you describe any time and if it's not competing with Prom it'd probably have a lot more people (or you could still keep it low)

Just a counterpoint. I don't know many people that don't regret skipping the thing (kind of like graduation ceremony)

Get together bunch of guys, pack some beer (if it's legal where you live), and go camping. That's what I did and we had shitload of fun. and it turned out that the prom sucked dick that year, so we were the winners.

Vap and some good pot. shroom if you're feeling adventurous but result may vary. Definitely beer and maybe hard liquor if you have the money. Don't get the cheap liquor they're not worth it. You can pretty much watch any movies if you have enough people to watch them while drunk/high. Don't really recommend video games unless you only have 3-4 people coming. Definitely test out your tolerance with alcohol and pot before though.
