Fantastic RPG's like Oblivion, Fallout 3, and KOTOR II, also InFamous seems to be pure fun with no frustration.
Yes indeed. Oblivion for PC especially, good ol' tgm with the every-spell cheat. Eat finger of the mountain, Imperial City!

Step 1. Get Dead Rising.
Step 2. Start a game.
Step 3. Get a katana, an electric guitar, a baseball bat, a shotgun and a bottle of wine
Step 4. Head straight into a bunch of zombies.
Step 5. Hit the Zombies with all your stuff until they break.
Step 6. Start over from Step 3.

It worked for me, and I got a few achievements while at it!

I like to play Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the PS. I'm a dweeb, but sometimes ya just don't want to play a hack 'n slash jaw-clencher!

You could always play the "go read a book" or "go play outside for a stint" or even the dreaded "come back tomorrow and try again" games, but EFF THAT! There are things to kill!

I highly recommend any of the Serious Sam games. Plenty of monsters in decently beautiful landscapes to splatter and gib. :) After a while, even the hardest setting isn't really that hard - the monsters just get bigger, there are more of them, and your guns get a bit smaller.

**HINT** the knife 1 shots everything :)

So, as you may have guessed, I've been playing TF2 and I went as scout [sub](High-speed, low health), on one of the new Koth maps. The map had been great in the past, BUT WAIT: The enemy team had at least 3 Engineers, each able to construct their own sentry gun, each of which spells instant death to a low-health character like mine, and severely limits, if not destroys, any possible routes around the map.
So, fresh from frustration, what would you recommend as a game to unfrustrate someone?[/sub]
Thats actually not at all what I was guessing.

OT: I reccommend a Dynasty Warriors game. Killing men by the droves calms a mind. Or try CoD4 with slo-mo, and cluster bombs activated and just 'nade the shit outta the NPCs.

id say audiosurf...
or a game your good at...

alternatively... you could aim more towards having fun, than winning... then losing doesnt matter as much...

i dont really understand those saying prototype and gta...

why would you want to pick on the intentionally weak...
when you can beat to supposedly strong?

Step 3 should have 2 bottles of wine, mega buster, megaman sword, katana, and sniper rifle for the long jobs. The rest should just be books improving shit. Thats just my preference.

Well, games frustrate me on a regular basis. When I get too frustrated I turn the game off, go read, or draw. Sometimes I'll just not game for a while. Then, when I'm ready, I just go back and try again. Frequently I find myself no longer frustrated and now able to complete said frustrating task. Other times... not so much [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWxmWZDXwL4]... those goddamn worms have plagued me forever.

For games to make you feel better about yourself, you can't go wrong with EA's fluffier offerings---The Sims 3 and SimCity Societies (the latter of which Yahtzee accurately called "Baby's First SimCity", and which I play when I'm frustrated with SimCity 4.)

Red Faction: Geurrilla on easy mode with all the cheats turned on.

Jetpack across the skyline firing thermobearic rockets into the gigantic buildings below you, watching them collapse into thousands of pieces... very relaxing.
