I did read somewhere that a Heroes game was being created, but was then canceled (thank god).
I assume it would have played like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, only without the iconic characters and nerdgasm plot.

It's been said numerous times that there aren't any shows that would make a great transition into the gaming world. The problem is that the majority of shows are good because of the characters, but in a game, you play the role of a character, and if a new character is introduced into the game version to keep the active cast as NPC's, then the dynamic changes because the main characters sit aside with lame jokes and offer help that you never really needed. However, if I had to pick one...Leverage.

This statement has my full support.

4. Doctor Who - Same principle as Heroes. It would be hard to explain why he can't go wherever/whenever he wants in the TARDIS. And it's hard to make an action game of a person who never uses weapons.
That's why the good Doctor would work well in a Point 'N Click!

Anyway, I don't really wish about TV games that I want, moreso ones I don't want. If I ever hear that there is an American Idol game, I am going to be very disappointed.

The problem is that most TV shows that have decent characters and plot lines tend to be serious, in that if a game deviated away from it's plot then it would be a complete load of crap.

Let's take Lost for example: The game involves you playing a non-existant character and as such means that pretty much everything your character does is made up and doesn't fit in with the story.

The problem? People don't like that, not if they enjoy the shows story as it is.

The solution? A TV show that doesn't need to have a serious or even coherent plot, one that it would not matter in the slightest if it's game counter-part did something completely crazy (as long as it fits with the theme/general idea that is.)

So what do I suggest?

Removing the unnecessary beer-drinking and bikini-wearing, I think a decent game could be modeled after Burn Notice. Once you strip away everything that makes the show bad, the clever moments strike me as brilliant, and I think it would be even cooler to try to plan a 3 person strike on your own with a pair of cell phones and a CIA handbook.

Pirates, Soldiers, Cowboys, Clairvoyants and Cannibals. Swearing in mandarin. In spaceships. This would have to be a pretty crap game not to be awesome.

I've got to be honest, I'm really glad nobody has suggested Guitar Hero: Dethklok yet.

I would love a Scrubs adventure game...the genre that TV shows actually fit nicely into with their story-focused gameplay.

I'm not that big a Heroes fan. But I do think an 8-bit Megaman style game where you play as Sylar would be made of AWESOME. Think about it! Side scrolling SNES/NES-ness, a cute wittle psycho killer running across the screen evading agents and stuff, and when you reach the powered person you want to kill, a boss fight begins, and when you kill them, instead of Megaman's little jumpy glowy sequence where he changes color to show he's got a new weapon, Sylar, well, cuts open the other guy's brain.

No, not at all. TV shows do not translate well into video games. Though Psych would make a good point and click adventure game.

The A team would make an awesome GTA styled game, or a commandoes style game. Anyone agree?

Desperate Housewives.

Oh wait.....

Joke answer aside, I second the Stargate idea. While watching it, there was several times where I felt like I could have been watching a promo for either a kick-ass FPS, or a really neat RTS. Instead, we get a shitty MMO that no one is going to play.
