Think FPS, but all the fun taken out and made as realistic as possible.
It'd be based loosely on Red Dawn, but without Patrick Swayze.

Think of it like Final Fantasy without random encounters and instead, the level design would resemble that of Halo. No turn based combat all live action. And Myst aspects in way of puzzles and brain teasing fuckery. Guns and a level system with puzzles.
As a student hoping to be a games programmer, and eventually get to develop my own ideas, I would hate to limit myself to a single genre.
I will definatley end up working on an FPS, and I could only dream of it achieving the kind of polished experience that you get with Half Life 2 and the episodes.
Other than that I have always enjoyed RPG's and hope to work on something truly immersive, that has a focus on making gameplay and storyline go hand in hand.

Yeah, I've played that game a bunch of times. I can never get past the Banhammer...Aqualung said:
Hmmm...a bloody-gore RPG where you can kill all the NPC's if you feel like it, have a completely customizable character, and can throw bits of the scenery around. And ride on all the animals.
An adventure/rpg game where you flew through TV and movies leveling up skills and such. But the kicker would be a massive satirical look at TV and movies in general.
Tactical FPS like SWAT3 with updated cover system like R6V2.
10 years later..SWAT3 has a lot more substance than R6V2..sad really.
I do relish the fact that it's not all run and cover and gun..you have the ability to run around with less-lethal launchers (flashbangs and CS gas grenades),and the MODS that came out..taped double mags that the AI actually used instead of the 7 second reload time of Vegas 2..
TONS of skins/outfits/duty clothing for your element in SWAT3..
IMO SWAT3 was just a better game than Vegas 2.
There wasn't a super uber french shotgun or assault rifle that tipped the scales.
OH..and you could choose between JHP and FMJ bullets..jacketed hollowpoint or full metal jacket..JHP for enemies without body armor and FMJ for the bad guys wearing body armor..and you could change bullet types without having to go back to some menu..and even the FACT that they gave you the option to change bullets.
You had a camera on a stick you could control..you could LEAN out from cover.
