Serious lack of understanding on your part. Developers don't decide whether or not their game gets mods, the modders do and no number or size of obstacles can stop them. Mods are already landing for MW2 and so far it looks quite promising.

Also do you people not understand that the SP is not the only part of the fucking game?
Yes we understand, all too well. But for us PC gamers the multiplayer is largely pointless, not counting the mods that are emerging CS:S, BF2, and MW1 all trump it soundly for ease of use, speed of connection, hacker proofing, player numbers and many other things.
I've tested it thouroughly on a mate's computer and half the time MW2's much hyped multiplayer is simply unplayable, pc's are not designed to run games smoothly in that kind of uncontrolled host switching environment the same way consoles are. Similarly that environment is not designed to stand up either to PC game lag numbers or serious hacking attempts, which runs from obvious stuff like aimbots to really nasty things like spoofing a better connection than you have to get host and gain an advantage. This applies to all the multiplayer modes.
No doubt you're going to write this off as fanboying baw, but I gave it the benefit of doubt and actually played the game before judging it. MW2 multiplayer simply doesn't work for PC players, there are better and cheaper alternatives.
Until mods arrive to bring it up to the standard of all other games it's basically a moribund feature. Especially to competitive players and clans.
