What was a game that really suprised you... especially for the price.

I bought Quake 4 for Xbox 360 in a bargain bin at Gamestop for $7.99. The single-player lasted me about 15 hours, and it was a heck of a lot of fun too. Too bad no one plays multiplayer anymore. :(

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot about the disc with a full version of Quake 2 on it! Didn't finish that one, but it sure provided a nice bonus.

Rogue Trooper (PS2) for 99p.

Fucking bargain. It's the first game in a long time I was actually determined to complete.

Prince of Persia sands of time trilogy. I found a deal for all three for $20 last year (this was before I had ever heard of Zero Punctuation btw).

Recently, I picked up a game I hadn't heard of before on the Wii for about 12 of the queens English pounds. I wasn't expecting much from it. The game? TellTales Sam and Max: Season 1.

The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Game of the Year edition.

Got it for 15 bucks from a friend. I had never heard of it before and he said it was good but he just got bored of it, and now I have a level 36 Breton and over 500 hours of gameplay.

Shadow Hearts: From the New World was a Christmas present (free games rule) and turned out to be one of the most hilariously cracked out RPGs I've ever played. Plus the gameplay was a nice innovation from the standard "pick an action then watch your little dude/lady do it" of most turn based games.

Also, I got the Xbox version of The Thing for $8 or something and it turned out to be genuinely creepy. It also turned me on to the movie.

You got a Wii game for £12? I envy you. I got that on PC. My PC couldn't really run it that well. Dampened my enjoyment of a great game slightly.

On topic: Probably Championship Manager 03-04. £5 and I still play it, albeit rarely. I cannot implore you enough to at least download the demo and give it a try.

Actually, I could list quite a lot of my games because 3 for 2 pre-owned games deals mean I have enough games to fill up 2 standard PS2 memory cards.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine. For a movie-video game, I was surprised at how much fun I was having, glitches aside.

Call of Juarez for 0.99. I had been looking for a copy of it for close to a year before I found it. Then I had to ask the cashier if the sticker on it was correct.

I bought a couple of game recently that I love.

Orange Box. Probably best 20 bucks I ever spent.

Banjo Kazzoie: Nuts and bolts. I love making my own vehicles.

Star Wars: Republic Commando. I thought it was a brilliant game. An awsome steal for 5 bucks.

Black from Xbox live marketplace, it was only 1200 MP, but I like it more than COD4.
