first offical job: running the cash register at my town's minor league baseball stadium. I was there for 3summers. The first one was horrible, but the 2nd 3rd were great. I was relocated to the grill. I became very good friends with the other cook and i got a little taste of authority. I remember one day there was a concert instead of a baseball game and the other cook couldnt come in until later that night because of summer classes. I was basically incharge of the stand, it was me and this other guy, but i held a little more power because i was making sure all the food was being made.

A summer job doing inventory for a fasteners company.

What does that mean? 8 hours a day, 5 days a week of counting endless boxes of screws, nuts, bolts, and nails in a stuffy warehouse. It paid well at the time, though, and it was my first job. I wanted to quit after the first day.

I can't believe I spent that money on a piece of shit portable DVD player, but it was a while ago.

Okay thanks a lot man:] fingers crossed then. Gotta say I still don't have a clue how the whole AS/A2 thing actually works o.o hrr. I definitely know I'll be dropping a subject at the end of this year though.

Haha thank god, A Levels right now are like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU >< haha.

Keep'em coming guys c(^_^c)
It took me a while to figure out...

AS pretty much doesn't exist in BTECs... they're bringing it in for some of them but generally you only get AS with exam based subjects.

Whatever your grade at AS you get half the UCAS points.

For example, if you take A level Psychology and get an A* that is worth 120, then you decide not to continue to A2, your UCAS points are worth half... so you'd have 60 instead of 120.

Is the bold, italic text really necessary? It's kind of distracting, or annoying, or something else I can't really put my finger on...

I don't have a job yet, but it's because I'm not old enough to get a worker's permit. Once I have one I'll most likely be working in retail.

Ranch hand I fixed fences and doctored cows and goats and occasionally drug them off to a giant heap when they died

That depends on what your definition of a job is. The first job I did where I was getting paid for a service was a paperboy when I was 10. The first job that I felt was an actual job was an umpire for a local little league field. My first job with an actual paycheck (as opposed to getting handed cash) was as a desk attendant at my bowling alley.

My first job was washing dishes/making pizzas at an Italian restaraunt. Sucked, but getting that paycheck was always sweet. Btw, dishwashers work the hardest in the kitchen and get the least amount of pay, not really fair imo.

My first job is a Game Adviser at Game Stop. Well, it's still my job so nothing else to really say other than that.

I bagged groceries. Held the job down for a year.

Still waiting to get my first "real" job---I've worked in call centers, as an office monkey, in casinos, but never anything I'd call a career. After graduation I'm going to go work for an accounting firm---it'll be my first "wear a suit" job...in my thirties.

My first job was working for the family business (landscaping). Enlisted in the Marine Corps when I was 17, got a medical discharge right before I turned 19.

Worked at UPS for a year loading trucks. Hours and pay were okay, but the facilities sucked and the job was boring repetition to hell and back.

Now work private security. Hours are long, but it pays decently. I work four 10-hour days so I have a three day weekend, but the 9pm-7am thing was horrible to get used to, and even on my days off I sleep from 7am-2pm and I'm awake all night.

Working at my local movie theater as an usher.
Really easy stuff.
Stand there.
Rip it in half.
Point a direction.
Sweep popcorn.
Pretty nice for $7.25 an hour.

Back in High School, I worked at the school's student store filling up the store's shelves with snack items. At first it was just a volunteer job to fill up my school schedule, but than later I ended up getting payed for it. I wasn't there long since I was in my final semester before I graduated, but I had a nice time during my stay there. Even though it eventually did become monotonous and repetitive.
