Modern Warfare 2, what scared me was the amount of people that bought such a piece of trash (including me), through sheer force of advertising and hype, even up against the obvious "fuck you" Infinity Ward was giving the PC player base (yes I am a PC gamer).

I am not too scared by games. When I was around five I played that flood ission in Halo with all the blood covered walls and flickering lights an thought "This is awesome!"
What isn't awesome though is getting chased through a crappy motel by shotgun wielding inbred fishmen, with controls that give the feeling of trying to yell directions down a crowded hallway to a ADD child who hasn't gotten his medication as of late.

The Penumbra games were the scariest, I've yet to see anyone who doesn't find them scary. Also Doom 3 was a freaking nightmare. what i don't get is why people think FEAR was scarier than Doom 3, i've played both and i didn't find FEAR even the least bit scary, in fact to me it was too repetitive & too predictable.
Without any doubt, Yume Nikki. Literally Giygas level weird all the way through (however the fear is a little subjective, so I've heard).
