Ok everyone, it's time for an uplifting, fun thread once again.
And with this said, I bring you a thread in which we put on the nostalgia goggles and talk about how great toys were back in "our days", whenever that might have been and maybe complain about not getting to play with toys anymore / toys not being as cool anymore / not having enough money to buy all the toys we want.

I'll go first:
My favourite set of toys was this:

This badboy right here. Damn it was awesome to program that thing and watch it drive around and stuff

EDIT: Feel free to post the most awesome toy you possess currently as well.
Tis a thread for happyness, so there is no reason to limit yourself really...

This looks a lot like my old room.
I had several bookshelves going from the floor to the ceiling. Good times...
(But we said "coolest toys", which in your case would mean "favourite book", so man up and spill the beans)

hmmm....that would be the Lara Croft action figure I got with the CE

its actually just the Play Arts line one that will likley be released later on

latley I felt Play arts kind of declined in quality after the dissapointing Mass Effect line, however the Lara one is very nice, she comes with a few extras, detail is nice and has only fallen over around 4 times (thats one thing play arts figures are great at)

it doesnt *quite* look like her but it looks nice just the same

Some of the cooler fun toys I remember

Battle Trolls

Dragonflyz

Cyber Samurai TMNT

And a very cool ripcord bike that was purple, fairly large and looked like something from Extreme-G. Couldn't find anything on it, if someone happens to know what I'm talking about post a pic.
I haven't seen that thing in 16 years. ;-;

EDIT: Oh oh, also

As for current toy, well I don't have any anymore, but the last one I owned somewhere around 16 I think, was this and about 4 Spawn toys.

Especially after reading so many. The one I read the most back then was probably Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, though it's nowhere near one of my favourites.

Oh I am with you on that, but I usually go with one of two books upon being asked.
Either "The Great Gatsby" or "The Overcoat" by Gogol.
Two truly magnificent books which greatly impressed me when I first read them.

If it was He-Man related, I had it. I still have Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain packed away. I also had all of the Gobots, which you could put together to form one gi-fucking-gantic Gobot.

I can't remember a specific favourite, but I had a cool collection of dinosaur toys. I could name them all accurately too; it always annoyed me that my Brachiosaurus toy had sharp teeth.

Seriously, as a kid, these were the coolest toys out there! No contest, fun assemble and even more fun playing with them (combining them was the best)
I remember those, but the rahkshi are far cooler:

My favorite toys were ones that I actually built myself.

Many of these we're my own Lego creations (space vehicles, dinosaurs, Transformers, etc.) and many I would create myself through arts and crafts. I made planes, boats, cars with spinning wheels, action figures, and other fun creations.

A GambeBoy with Pokemon Yellow.
First place I learned to read English.

How many languages did your toys teach you?

Other than that, I had books.
Mostly from the library.
Ah, the good old days, when I used to read from actual paper books...

That they are! I had all generations up to Rahkshi! I still have a ton of em under my bed!

...*goes under bed to play with Bionicles*
... check my username. Yeah, it's that old, and i stuck with it for nostalgia's sake. I was still slightly into bionicle at the time when it was cancelled. I wasn't into it as much as a few year before, but damn, those feels.

It's hard to derail this thread into "Favorite" toys, but I'm sticking with "coolest", because if I were going by my favorites, it'd be all He-Man and Transformers. Here were two really COOL toys I had.

Robotix were great. You could build tons and TONS of stuff with them, and frequently they were used to build bases and contraptions for other action figures. The only sad thing about them is that eventually all the motors would burn out with heavy use.

The other awesome toys I had were Starcom. These things were fantastic. All the ships and tanks had moving parts, wings that would slowly unfold, or gun batteries that would snap up into position. They came with tons of missiles and guns that could all be changed and configured in different positions. All the ships had magnets on them, which made them able to pick up crew members who had magnetic feet, or other ships which would have magnets on them to connect with each other. They were extremely detailed. Even with all these moving parts, they were incredibly durable. Even after years of playing with these things, all the springs and motors on the toys still worked.

Lego, obviously. One of the last few things I ever got was a 40 inch Lego Technic Ferrari F1 car, it was fucking insane. It even had a proper differential, it was fantastic (even if being slightly pointless considering it had no engine). Most of the time I was building enormous castles though, which annoyed my family because after a few years I had enough Lego to make castles that took up a very large part of the living room.

I think this was my coolest toy. It was definitely my favourite.

I also had the Dragon Zord and Titanus. I thought they were the greatest things ever. I really regret giving them away when I went through a "I'm to old for toys" phase.
