I'm not sure if kids these days still buy entire albums, but this is still a fun topic to reminisce on.

My first album was "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Dare to Be Stupid." I was 8 years old. I bought it on cassette from Record Surplus in Los Angeles.

I think I was 9 or something when I bought Avril Lavigne's second album. $10 at Wal-Mart.

I never bought that album, my mom did for me (I was also 8, but I was born in 1990). I think my first album I physically bought with my own money, Geez, I bought two in one day, they were both Soundtracks, and one was The Rocky Horror Picture Show, based off the movie, and it cuts the song about the "Sword of Damocles" and "Wise Up, Janet Weiss". Otherwise, not a bad buy.

The Other was the Soundtrack to Tommy (The 70s Rock Opera by The Who). It's epic.

Own money as in "I worked for it at some regular job" or as in "allowance"?

I've only done seasonal work and that didn't start until after I had a fairly large music collection. Pesky child labor laws. This is America, kids should have the freedom to work if they want money!

My first full album that I bought with my allowance was The Better Life by 3 Doors Down in 2000 or 2001.

I'm pretty sure mine was Heathen Chemistry by Oasis, although i can't honestly remember how old I was, or how much it cost...

It was also the first music I had on CD. Everything I'd had before that was cassette.

I'm trying to work out if it was a Westlife album, a Busted album, or (as I hope) a Rise Against one.

...but I strongly suspect it was one of the first two. ;_;

With my own money?

Incubus: Make Yourself, On release day no less.

That CD got me called a weirdo for months, but I still love it.
