Wolfenstein 3D, the year it came out. I was four years old...
I was actually terrfied of the game. At first I could barely even eatch my mom and dad play, and when I played myself, I got killed by the third soldier I fought and ran away from the computer. Then my parents bought Gobliiins and I fell in love with gaming again.

Duck Hunt on the NES, then SMB 2.

I also had this that I remember being really hard (For child me) but I can't remember the name of it to save my life. It had a sort of space-y theme and you played as a bi-pedal robot that kinda looked like a Chicken Walker...I think.

Duke Nukem 3D demo, my parents were a bit disapproving as I was 3 when I played it. Not that it mattered, I had no idea what was going on so anything sexual went riiiight over my head, and I just thought that shooting baddies was really fun.

Some of my first memories are playing Magic Crayons or Richard Scarry's Huckle and Lowly's Busiest Day Ever on the Sega Pico. Did anyone else here have a Pico? It's still in my closet. I was probably about 4 or 5 in 1995 when I first played it. Before that... maybe Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp or old PC games like that. There isn't anything like playing video games on Windows 95.

You're sending me through a nostalgic loop, damn you Escapist!

Probably the original Donkey Kong in the arcades. Although I did play a lot of Asteroids, also in arcades, but I think I discovered Donkey Kong first. Was probably around 1981? 82? Something like that.
I remember the start of the next generation of arcade titles, like Defender, and how much better they were.

My cousin had Pong. I remember playing it on my grandmothers Black and white TV when he came to visit, but I didn't really get into games until I got the Atari 2600. It came with Space invaders and Combat, and we had Asteroids too. I remember I was to young to understand to be careful with the controllers, and I think I broke a couple of them. I sucked at the games, but my brother could wrap the score. I played that console for many years. I never had a Nintendo console until the Wii. I went from the Atari to computers like the commodore 64, then to a IBM 286. I was hooked on PC games until the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2. Now I mostly play on the Xbox 360.

Original ORIGINAL Duke Nukem for MS DOS while sitting on my grandpa's knee, sipping half-frozen Doctor Pepper and munching sardines. Ah, those were the days. I stopped gaming for a bit, mostly because there weren't really consoles or computer games at my house at the time, but eventually my dad loaded the original Diablo on the computer, and I watched him play that, and that transitioned into me playing a little, and then to me getting a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Yellow... Haven't stopped gaming since.

It was one of the Sonic games (I don't know which one. They all look the same in my memory). It was around 1993 or 1994 so it could have been any of the first 4-5 games.

Chip's Challenge.

It was on a computer that my dad and I used to practice building PCs on and would test boot programming on. I loved that game as a kid.

JK!!

But I think the first electronic game that I remember playing was a black and white Kid Pix game.
Albeit if we're talking about games with actual gameplay involved, the first game I ever remember playing was Super Mario Land 2 on my very own silver GameBoy Pocket. :)

For arcade games, it's Space Invaders at a Denny's. And for home games, it's Combat for the 2600 on our old black and white TV.

The first "Crash Bandicoot" for the Playstation. I haven't played it since before I was eight (as far as I can remember). I watched my dad play and beat it, but I never could at that age. I could beat 2 and 3, but never 1. I'm sure if I went back to it now I could do it, but it's the only thing in gaming that he can lord over me and I'm not going to take that from him.
