Most of that age for me is a blur, so I'm not really sure on which games came first. It's probably from my Atari 2600 days, and was Karateka, but the one that I remember as being my earliest real game experience, was Starflight

Great space exploration game, and one of the few good memories I have with my older brother.
Yeah Karateka was pretty much the first game I ever played, in all its 4-color glory on the PC (pink, blue, b&w). Probably an XT or something. Then I think I ventured the courage to play Prince of Persia after my older brother was showing it to me. Either that or Space Invaders. I heard there was a remake of Karateka happening for awhile, I wonder if it got anywhere?

Donkey Kong on the old Colecovision console. That was 1982 or 83 I think. Good memories. That was actually especially for it's a day a decent system.

Besides the games which came with Windows XP, probably Freddy Fish. I can't be sure though, because the earliest photos are of my brother and I playing Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds at age 5/6 ish (remember when computer game/software boxes used to be 10 inches tall or so?), but my mother has mentioned me messing with the family computer as early as 18 months old, and I know I played Red Alert 2 before Galactic Battlegrounds.

To this day, Red Alert 2 is still hard as shit towards the end. I only ever beat the soviet campaign, and I only managed to do it once. Never managed to crack the final mission for the allies. I should dig up my old copy and give it a go again.

The best of the NES Mega Man games, Mega Man 5.

Gravity Man's stage was what I nursed on as a young gamer. Shinobi was what baptised me in fire.

I'm not sure, but it was probably either the original Star Wars arcade game, or something on the Odyssey 2 system. C64 and Atari 2600 games were the first to really get me into gaming.

Final Fantasy 7 on PS1. I distinctly remember my confusion over the fact that the game had 4 discs..... -_-'

The first game I ever played on a console was Combat on the Atari 2600, because they packed it in the box.

The first PC game I ever played was Zork. Text adventure, ho!

i remeber that we had 3 games on the colecovision, donkey kong, venture and zaxxon. wich one was the first, i dont know i was like 3 or 4 when they come out.

i clearly remember that i was really really afraid by venture, because when you took too much time there was a skull like pixels creature that was chasing you. each time i run to hide behind the couch...

God knows what I first played, but I distinctly remember WATCHING WITH INCREDIBLE ENVY as my neighbour played Gianna Sisters in 1987, when his parents just opened a video cassette rental thingie, and had a Commodore there just for fun.

It still hurts a bit that they never let me play.

Dungeons and Dragons. It was this little hand-held game that my dad had. I was so little that I don't even remember how it played (back the late '80s).

Edit:
Found a video on it.

Yea I definitely didn't know what I was doing in that game

Probably Gunstar Heroes on the Sega Mega drive/Genesis. I played a lot of games with my brother when I was younger, and I remember Gunstar Heroes being one of the earliest, if not the first. It is a little fuzzy now, but my money is on Gunstar.

First console game would have been Michael Jackson's Moonwalker on the SEGA megadrive. Throwing your hat at gangsters to an 8bit midi of Smooth Criminal - BADASS!

First PC game was probably Duke Nukem on my dad's 286.

I often wish I could remember... but then I guess not remotely remembering a time before you played games has its advantages too.

Having thought of this before, the best I could figure is that it would pretty definitely have been something on the Amiga, and thinking of the early games we had on the Amiga and the ones I might be most likely to play, I can only take a stab in the dark that it COULD have been one of the following:

- Great Giana Sisters
- Captain Planet and the Planeteers
- Turrican 2
- Bart Simpson vs. the Space Mutants
- Lemmings
- Rick Dangerous
- Pang

I'd say there's a reasonable chance it was one of those, but I guess I'll never really know.

Got an Atari 2600 too in in what must have been 1992, but I can't imagine it being possible that I hadn't already been playing games then since A. I remember getting it, and B. Presumably my liking games was why I got it in the first place.

Always loved Frostbite <3
