What was the last game you finished, and what did you think of it?

Simple enough question.

If it was something that you were replaying, what did you do differently this time? What made you want to play it again? Was it as good as you remembered it being?

For me it was Mass Effect 2 (for the second time) a couple of days ago. I replayed 1 and then 2 in preparation for ME3 since I'd forgotten most of the story. ME2 does more good than bad for the series overall, but it annoyed me that they took away crouching. I also happened to like the Mako sections in the original and planet scanning is possibly the worst thing to happen to a good game, ever.

Infamous 2. And i loved it, and yes the good ending was sad, but it was also really good. Also the Mako was awesome!

Fear 3. I really enjoyed it, but I was playing Coop. I've heard it's not as enjoyable playing single player.

Cars 2. It was a lame Mario Kart style game that controlled poorly. It alternated between racing, racing with weapons, and then arena battles. The Arena battles were the worst part in that you were constantly skidding around in circles trying to shoot anybody.

On the plus side, the achievements were easy to get

Cave Story.

It was amazing. I had a problem with the final bosses, though, because I had no booster, and only 28 HP. Oh well.

Back to the Future - Okay game due to story and graphics.

For me it did the trick of nostalgia greatness and the story really got interesting after Episode 3. The huge failing for the game is the controls...which are horrid. Some of the puzzles were repetitive and one dragged on a bit as well. I'd give it 5/10 and worth getting during a Steam sale only if you're a fan.

I just realised I lied in my first post. The last game I finished was Ratchet and Clank: Quest For Booty. I got it as one of my free games from the sony PSN debacle.

It wasn't "bad", but it sure wasn't as good as the two full games on the PS3 (I haven't played the PS2 ones). R&C just doesn't seem to be suited to this "episodic" style of release... the games need to be epic and they need to give you a chance to use all kinds of crazy weapons. At 3-4 hours, Quest For Booty just doesn't cut it.

But hey, it was free.

Replayed the original Half-Life. Very enjoyable up until I had to deal with those god damn flying super-brain things. Christ they were annoying.

L.A. Noire. Decent game, but not great. Now I'm looking forward to playing the DLC cases. And perhaps going for 100%. Right after I finish another go through Mass Effect.

inFamous 2. Really liked it, and I did like the good ending very much. Wouldn't say the game had a great story, but the last few hours of the game were very poignant.

MGS 3: One of the best games ever created even if a lot of the concepts didn't work the history is great and the ending is the best ending in a videogame ever.

Brutal Legend. I think it's extremely underrated and I'm sad to hear it sold so badly. It's very unique, and with all the work that went into it, like voices and songs from amazing bands and rock stars, it's just a crying shame it's all gone unnoticed. Being a heavy metal fan, I can't see why I didn't pick it up earlier.

I finally started playing Saints Row 2 after owning it for 18 months, and I was addicted within the hour.

Wasted a week of my life doing nothing but finishing it, totally worth ever second.

Mass Effect 2. Waiting for Deus Ex, or else I wouldn't even have gotten it. I don't care so much for the gameplay (shooters aren't usually my thing, but I make a semi-exception for Mass Effect), but the conversation and the story made it fantastic for me. Though I miss the hanar. o_O
Also, I don't really understand why everyone hates planet scanning so much. I like it. Maybe I'm just weird. xD

Portal 2 back in April. Thought the ending was great, really satisfying, I just wish they had made the test chambers harder.

Suppose that would be Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls (PS3/PSN).

Loved it. I have no nostalgic memories of this subgenre, so believe me when I say it's the most fun I've had with an RPG released this year. Right now LoLS is doing victory laps in my mind. We've got Dark Souls and Deus Ex coming up, and I expect those to measure up if not exceed this, but still, victory laps.

Mind you, it takes its oldschool nature pretty seriously. There's barely any plot or dialogue, it uses tile-based movement, enemy portraits are static, a text box shows what's happening in combat instead of animation.. you get the idea.

[sub]Gorgeous character designs, though.[/sub]

Finished Infamous 2 about 2 days ago. Always liked Infamous, really loved Infamous 2. Before beating it I pretended to be spider-man by using the lightning tether and static thrusters to swing between buildings.

Pokemon Pearl. In 2007.

Thinking about this is hard, as it was a while ago. I remember two things: I am bad finishing games, and it was a fair game.

Louie's Mansion. Probably my 3rd play through. I had a lot of fun even though it was really quick game to beat. :B.

My favorite Mario game. With the possible exception of Super Start Saga.
