Unless i'm going after some special edition then I see no point to pre-ordering

its very rare for it to be nessicary....only example being Diablo 3 which seemed to sell out like wildfire, well that is unles you want to "pay some now, pay some later" which I guess is a fair reason

unless you count pre-order bonuses..so I guess if you dont want to miss out of whaty ou should (arguable) already get

I am interesting in Sleeping Dogs come this thursday

I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 back during the promotion on Steam that brought its final price down 30%.

Normally I don't pre-order, even for games I really want, but I couldn't argue with 30% off and a free DLC character class when it becomes available.

Covers it.

I never used to preorder -- still don't, most of the time -- but my brother-in-law offered me part of a four-pack of Borderlands 2 at twenty bucks off. Couldn't resist that.

I will be preordering XCOM: Enemy Unknown as soon as it becomes available. Can't think of anything else I want that bad. I've got my eye on Guild Wars 2 but I will wait for reviews.

I pre-ordered Borderlands 2, Guild Wars 2 and Torchlight 2 yesterday. I nearly put a pre-order down on Resident Evil 6 but I checked out the demo yesterday (via Dragon's Dogma) and was less than impressed.

Mass Effect 3. Digital, though, since I can't be bothered to go to a midnight launch or even to a game store at all.

And I did the same for Skyrim, got to play both of them the second they unlocked. Good times.

I suppose Borderlands 2 counts as a pre-order, but the last time I remember going to a store and filling out a pre-order form was Majora's Mask.

In recent years, I just ask Amazon send me a copy of a game I know I'm going to be getting, so it doesn't really feel like what I consider a pre-order. I think that only applies to Portal 2, L4D2 (which I can't remember if I pre-ordered for early shipment or not) and Duke Nukem Forever. Everything else I've bought post-release.
