Sticking my neck out but I don't care:
The last horror movie I really cared for was the first Paranormal Activity. It was a cool concept and kind of took the whole first-person camera thing and did some cool stuff with it. Had a good mix of stuff popping up and surprises and also creating tension I really liked. Hate it as much as you want but I liked it.

If Apollo 18 counts then that. I don't know why it got smashed so badly by the critics, it wasn't that bad.

Just loved that feeling of the two guys being trapped there on the moon and that something might be out there with them.

I recently saw "The Descent" and "[REC]" for the first time a few days ago.
"The Descent" was ok. The monsters weren't really that scary, and the film was a bit too action-heavy.
[REC] on the other hand was amazing. The last fifteen minutes or so are some of the most terrifying I've ever seen in a film. It's also one of the best "found footage" films I've seen, with only "Chronicle" coming close.

I enjoyed Saw and I'm not really a fan of horror movies. I liked the twists and thought the premise was pretty cool. I didn't care much for the sequels, FYI.

It's probably because it wasn't that scary. I liked it thought it was very interesting.

I'd say Woman in Black, it wasn't that scary but it was still good.

Last year i liked Insidious, despite it´s flaws. But the best one i´ve seen from the past couple of years was House of the devil. That movie is great, also highly enjoyed Cabin Fever 2, though it is a bit too gross and it feels a bit messy towards the end. Then there´s Isolation, a bit like Alien but irish and on a farm. Surprisingly better than it sounds.

This year i´m mostly looking forward to the innkeepers.

But the best one i saw most recently was probably Communion, which was pretty damn good, though a bit weird towards the end.

You mean Woman In Black?

I saw that in the cinema with my girlfriend as a first date. To her credit, she handled horror movies quite well. Couldn't say that much for the rest of the theatre. The rich guy's house is a house that's around where I live, so Daniel Radcliffe kept coming into the pub.
Oops yes I did mean the woman in black, I make that mistake pretty frequently. Also you say the Radcliffe visited your pub. Did you ever get to meet him?

Hands down, its Drag Me To Hell. Scary and a good bit of funny thrown in to make a pretty fantastic movie. Ending was a little obvious, but it was still a hell of a trip to get there.
Pardon the pun, but hell yes!

But if we're going by most recent one I saw, it would be John Carpentar's The Thing. The idea of being trapped in a snow-covered military base with an alien that can take any form is terrifying beyond belief for me.

Yeah. I kept getting mistaken for him, too.

I remember the funniest one was when I was going up into the village square to buy some food, and I just hear this squeal. I turn and see this woman run across the road and when she gets to me, she realizes I'm not Daniel Radcliffe. I have dark brown hair instead of black, and am taller. Her face just falls, and she just goes "oh" and walked off. I don't think I've ever heard so much "it's your fault I made this mistake" disappointment worked into one sound. xD
