Inertia!

*Laughs it off*

Seriously though, my last moving moment was personal and really not for the ears of Escapists.

Ninja'd by the third post. I honestly can't think of anything else at the moment, but goddamn did that scene make me cry or what.

Since posting in this thread I just re-read something that actually left me in tears.

In Phillip Pullman's second book in the His Dark Materials trilogy, The Subtle Knife, where
Lee Scoresby dies fighting off the soldiers to protect Lyra, and he felt Hester, his Hare Daemon press her face up close to his as she cried. Jesus Christ that stuff is depressing. Very well written though.

FC Groningen losing in an agreggate 6-6 after penalties. I was both proud and disappointed since they came back from a 5-1 loss.

Last week during a Night shift a radio program I always listen to had a caller who wanted to commit suicide. The Dj's were able to keep te person on the line for 40 minutes while they alerted the police and they managed to get them to her to reiceive the help she needed.

It was a pretty moving piece of radio.

Ever listen to "Inner Universe" by Origa? One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
I prefer 'Rise' as a song (because I have issues with the first half of 'Inner Universe'), though as an artist (of GitS fame), I prefer Ilaria Graziano.

OT: Somewhat bizarrely: In Your Prime by BGC

It must be one of the most amazing and moving things I have seen for ages.
Wow. Not a big fan of Ozzy lately, but damn, the ending was perfect. Good show.

OT: Watched Saving Private Ryan again last week. That movie always gets to me. So god damned good.

I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor when they came to Brooklyn in March. It was a long time ago, but I don't get out often :|

Here's some video I shot that really doesn't capture what it was like to be there, since the audio is terrible. Seriously, if you watch this, mute it.

If you want some context to the video, here's the album version of the song. The video starts at about 3:45 in.

The ending of season 2 of Teen Titans (Aftershock Part II). The way it ended with Terra stopping the volcano from destroying the city and finally redeeming herself as she is cast in stone. It was almost heartbreaking to read the plaque that they placed at her feet: "Terra - A Teen Titan, A true friend."

I found a video of it here:

I was waiting for Roger Ebert At The Movies on PBS (It's the only television show worth watching until Archer, Wilfred and Breaking Bad come back on TV) and the program before the show played credits, and this song was playing. I didn't cry, not really; I wiped away tears, as the amazing singing voice of Rosemary Clooney came over my Surround Sound speakers.

In Context, I have been playing L.A. Noire and the game is fun, but the soundtrack is amazing, and when I heard this song, it moved me as much as the music in the game did (The sung stuff, not the composed stuff, but that's all good too)

I recently worked on Les Miserables early this year. Such a good musical, if you don't know what it is/haven't seen it. I highly recommend it. I was never really a fan of musicals, but this is fantastic.

Saints Row 2, oddly enough. The part where
my character has to mercy-kill Carlos. After that, I found tricking Maero into accidentally crushing his ***** of a girlfriend to death disturbingly satisfying.

When my brother and I saw that movie, he cried. It was pretty hilarious since he's older.

The last thing that moved me was a while ago. My girlfriend watched Jay and Silent Bob: Strike Back with me, and I think we're going to watch Return of the Jedi now...

Actually, the real thing that moved me the most--recently--was a talk that she and I had. I won't go into detail, but it was really emotional and it changed us both a bit--I think.

One of the most poignant parts of any movie I've seen. I saw it again recently, and it still brings tears to my eyes.

The scene, where the men show up to take her away while she sits despondently on the couch. Amazing.

The stories concerning Lycoris, Nerine, Primula, and Asa from Shuffle. Although if I'm marveling at anything it's less at the stroies themsevles than it is at that knowledge that a freakin harem anime is capable of being this good. Ten episodes left, hope they maintain the same level of quality.
